Last night I contemplated sleeping outside on the trampoline, untill it started raining. It was just so peaceful out there with most of the stars and the coyotes. My own little piece of the Wild West on the prarie. Tonight, I sat out there for twenty minutes watching the lightening and reveling in the stormy atmosphere. This is my favorite sort of weather. I love the smell of ozone and the edgyness that comes from a storm growing in the distance. I think it's fitting. I've been so restless lately. I'm hoping that school will beat the restlessness out. I don't mind it, I just can't stand it for so long. Maybe I have flighty feet or something. I don't know. But the restlessness has been growing just like the storm out side is. Sooner or later it's going to become overwhelming and I'm going to burst. Bad things happen when I burst. I once tossed my sister out of a moving truck. Wow. I forgot all about that. Wicked. More lightening. Tomarrow is the girls first day of the new school year. I suspose I should be heading off to bed to do quiet things so they can sleep. Or mebbe I'll wander out into the storm again. Can you get hit by lightening or electrocuted by sitting on a trampoline when it's right up under the eves of the house? |
I know a good time when I see one / And when I'm in the mood I can even be one / I can lead the parade or I can stop it / Sometimes I dance in the boat just to rock it

Lucy, I'm Home!
| Hey all, I'm BAAAAAAAAACK! Right now I'm hoofing it in Nodak at my parents' place, but soon and very soon I'll be back at school and bombarding ya'll with tales of my stupid clumsy ass and all the amazing, bizarre, and oddly curious things I think about.
Hum.... anything intresting lately....no....They're taring and graveling the road by my house so I had to wait a long time to get to work, Steve Miller band's Rocking me Baby, 50 Cent's In Da Club, and Teri Clark's Girls lie too, plus alot of comercials and radio flipping and another song on the classic rock station that I didn't know but was great. Oh Hey. We have a kitten. He's got one of those little pot bellies that baby's have. And is just so fluffy and cuddly and he's grey and black tiger striped. He has a perpetual cold. This was really funny because he would sneeze on Toshia and she's such a germaphobe. Lots and lots of laughs. His name is Tigger. Technically, he's my baby sister, Vanessa's cat. But he likes me better. I call him Tigg, which annoys the piss out of everyone but my mom who calls him booger and my dad, who calls my dog shithead and hasn't come up with a creative blue collar monkier for the new pet. There's also rumblings about us getting a puppy. A future hunting dog sort of puppy, but one of those gangly clumsy little things(aka puppies!) I love anyway. I'm pushing to name it Fork, or Toast, or Blenderhead. I don't think I'm going to win. Shame. |

Yada Yada Yada...
At the library. Just finished with work. Taped nine and a half palets worth of boxes with the water taper thing. I looked like I was turning into a reptile because all that damned glue was sticking to me. I also ripped my nail off at work. It hurt like a bitch and Jason just laughed at me.
Got my Financial Aid letter thing. Didn't get any work study. Damned communists.
Went and saw the Stepford Wives with my tratorious friend Toshia. The wench went and saw it with Tiffy and Sara first. Five movies isn't that much dear!!!!!
Whining because my Daddy can't make it down this weekend. It's all Mel's fault. She ripped the money tree out with her car. (Funny story should blog that) Now I have to live with mildew in my porch. Ew. I wish I was all handy Tim "the toolman" Taylor. I can do some of it, but I'm not wonder woman.
And my flowers haven't come up yet. I planted them four days ago so there's still six more days before it's a certianty that I've killed them.
Untill later.

went saving horses and riding cowboys...
Well, at least that was the plan. Instead, Me and Tosh went to the Buffalo rodeo and watched some very fine cowboys ride horses and got mud splashed on my car. (Which I still haven't washed off.)
Of course the moron who got the nice black chev stuck in the muddy ditch was a woman. How stupid are some people? She was trying to back a four by out of the mud. Duh, woman! Push it into four wheel and speed right on out. Of course some guy had to do that, which is how I ended up with a dirty car. I was waiting for it to come in my open window, but the guy didn't have enough skills for that.

That wonderful land down under....
First they give us those wonderfully faithful sticks that work like my dogs they call boomerangs. Then they give me my future husband Keith Urban. And I am Happy. Next came Heath Ledger and I fell in love. Now they are supply Ryan Kwanten, the hottie that plays Jay on the WB's Summerland.
It comes on Tuesdays and he's yummy. I could listen to him talk all day... and a few other things...*wink**Big sigh*

My lovely music...
I just bought Faith Hill's Cry CD. I was sort of suprised by it. It made me realize what everyone was railing about "Faith going pop." It makes me think of a WLTE music format. It's one of those records you pop on when you're gonna have some seduction going on. It's not all about love, but heart break and finding identity, but it's a relaxing record.
I've also been Jamming to Keith Urban's The Ranch album. I love the song Desiree. I think that just proves that I'm sullen and depressing and melodramatic at heart.

Unplesant movie experiences....
Last night me and Tosh, Anna, Tiff, and a few other people went to see Shrek 2 since me and Tiff were the only ones who hadn't seen it yet.
***Some movie spoilers obviously coming***
My favorite part was when Shrek choked on the spoon. I lost it and laughed so freakin' hard I missed the next couple minutes of the movie. Puss in Boots is also adorable. I love Antonio Bandaras. Plus, Holding out for a Hero is an absolutely awsome song.
The sucky part came when some stupid chick when off on us about disturbing "People wanting to enjoy the movie". Which was stupid because we are rather serious movie goers. We talk quietly when asking questions and rarely get up. I think Anna did that once. We were gennerally baffeled that she freaked out on us. I was prolly the worst person because I laughed and I sang abit of Hero.
Oh well. We ofcouse topped the night off with Perkins.

The lord was not smiling...
Smarty Jones lost. Atleast my third place horse came in first. That means some winning money is still possible. Right. Don't want to post too long. Stole Erin's comp after a long day at work. I just want to go home and read. Found a new author. Stephanie Laurens I think it is. Also have some Hailey North and Susan Johnson on deck. Promise lots more tomarra when I go to the Library.

Busy late last night...
Went and saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night. Was extremely excited because it's my favorite book of the first four. I like the fifth book too but it makes me sad. (Is that vague enough without giving anything away?)
Anyhow, Sirius Black is my favorite character from Harry's world. It just upsets me so much that they couldn't find a hot actor to play him. I guess that ends all fantasy's about him. LoL. Also, Wood is not in this movie and I'm insanely in lust with that actor. He's so adorible.
Oh, and the Weasley twins have Beatles haircuts.

Philosophy at 11 in the morning...
Got an email from Shauna that was deep. And sorta amusing. Here it is for your pleasure:
WORDS TO LIVE BY
Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
and some days you're the statue.
Always keep your words soft and sweet,
just in case you have to eat them.
Always read stuff that will make you look
good if you die in the middle of it.
Drive carefully. It's not only cars that
can be recalled by their maker.
Eat a live toad in the morning and nothing
worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.
If you can't be kind, at least have the
decency to be vague.
If you lend someone $20, and never see
that person again, it was probably worth it.
It may be that your sole purpose in life
is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Never buy a car you can't push.
Never put both feet in your mouth at the
same time, because then you don't
have a leg to stand on.
Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.
The early worm gets eaten by the bird,
so sleep late.
When everything's coming your way,
you're in the wrong lane.
Birthdays are good for you; the more
you have, the longer you live.
You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.
Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.
We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty, some
are dull, some have weird names, and
all are different colors but they all
have to learn to live in the same box.
A truly happy person is one who can
enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.
I know some of them are the things that people get in email all the time like "You could be the world to one person." But The worm one was funny and so was the statue one. Or maybe it was just me.

Forever...
It's been forever since I've written. I now have figgured out how to use the internet for the most part so hopefully, this will work out better. Right now I'm at the library and checking email. I've got five books or so on hold and three more at home that still need my attention. Lucky for me, I don't have to be to work untill noon on monday. I'm also pleased as punch I don't have to look at anymore stupid Cheerios boxes. I now hate the damned things. Hopefully, by the time they get the new shipment of them in I'll safely be ensconsed in another special project so I don't have to assemble stupid gift bag kits. Ick. All right I'm done.

On the hunt...
Got a call today...The temp agency has FINALLY given me a call and I'm workin'on friday now...Whoo-hoo...Praise the Lord...Ick...I don't know what else to say...Alright I'm done...I want a different job...I don't know why...Read some more books...Got some shopping done...Spent more money than I have...Erin's mom's making us eggs and bacon. Yummy...Ya know, I should steal a toaster...I love toast.
The chicken from hell
For everyone's future refrence, don't try to roast Peeps. You'll only get yourself burned. Trust me. Want proof? Check out my pointer finger on my right, No my other right ( That would be left, after many confusing hand gestures). I got my self a nice second degree burn. It looks like a maniquin with out a head, arms, or legs.
My sisters had managed to convince my mom to light them a bonfire, so I tossed on my jean jacket and flip-flops and headed out of doors to participate in the festivities. My sisters moved the trampoline closer to the fire (I was waiting for one of them to be bounced in.) My mom was building it up nice and high, and I was sitting there being slobbered on by my adorible doggies (one of which strongly smelled of the cow manure I'd tried to wash off of him two days before).
That's when I got the great Idea to roast marshmellows. Of course I was thinking normal ones with chocolate and grahm crackers aka s'mores aka some mores aka those awsomely fatening things that cause fights around the campfire because someone always has taken more chocolate than they were susposed to and there's never the right amount of chocolate, marshmellows, and crackers in their perspective containers. Instead my sister brings out mini marshmellows left over from the pizzeria. Stale mini marshmellows.
They don't taste bad. Sorta like the hearts and stars and horse shoes, clovers and blue moons, pots of gold, rainbows, and the red baloons, of Lucky Charms. Somehow one of my doggies got ahold of them and it became one for Jake, one for Shiner, and one for Lisa, untill we finished 'em up. I however was still hungry and had the bright idea to roast me some Peeps. The first one ended up in the fire. The second ended up mooshed in Shiner's fur. The third is the fateful one that burned my fingers and chased me in the house to nurse it with a gel pack and Larry the Cable guy.

FYI
I have peach pit stuff stuck in my teeth and Tosh won't go into the kitchen (I'm at Erin's) to get my purse so I can get 'em out. Now you're stuck with me complaining about how I have 'em stuck in my teeth.

The final leg...
of the triple crown is on June fifth. Can't wait. Smarty Jones is of course going to be the favorite. Which he's a favorite of mine. But he might hit the TC this year and I can only keep my fingers crossed. Find out more here at the New York Racing Association site.
Current Readings...
Right. So I picked up more books from the library a week ago. I managed to slam down a few in MN before my westward trek. The rest I've managed to slim down to almost nothing.
First was Pillow Talk by Hailey North. This was a new to me author. I found her from those lovely ladies on the Lauren Royal Street team. Unfortunately, My library doesn't stock many of her books, but I fell in love with this one so I'm gonna have to go ask for somemore. It's a modern romance and is really cute and funny.
I Read Leigh Greenwood's Born to Love. I love all of Leigh's books and character's I've ever read, which is a considerable amount since I've read all of the Seven Brothers and all of the Cowboys. This is the last of his Night Rider Trilogy but I haven't read the first two books. I really think it sucks that his publisher ditched the idea of him finishing it out the way it was planned. I love connected books. Yes it rocks to read 'em all in order, but unlike Nora Robert's connected trilogies, these can stand well all on their own and out of order. Trust me. And Amazon gives plenty of backlisted books so I don't understand all the hoopla. Losers.
Then came The Outlaw Bride by Sandra Chastain. This was another newbie to me. I just picked it up off a library shelf because I wanted something to read and it sounded sorta interesting. It was a case of dual brothers wrongfully accused of stealing in the old west Texas. My only grief was the amnesia. I understand it's a real thing but it gets used a little overmuch in romantic fiction as a driving story device. The main heroine was a lawyer and a past life street raggamuffin. I think I'm going to check out some of her other works. The Redhead and the Preacher is an intruging title.
My transtion book from MN to Nodak was Emily and the Scot by Kathryn Smith. This was another LR Street teamer. Unfortunately, my library only has her YA titles and not any of her adult stuff. The book was cute. I defanitely enjoyed it even though it was a Teen novel. I'm really for the sentiment behind it though. I read my first Romance novel when I was in sixth grade and I think that's a bit WAY to soon for my porn books. It's really too bad Avon canceled their YA line.
Then I read Outlaw's Bride by Maureen McKade. She actually lives in Minot so that was sorta weird to find out. It was a formula romace. It was sweet and entertaining and I only picked it up because it had a similar title to the other book. She was a new author for me too.
Then I tackled Birthright by Nora Roberts. I loved this book. I'm gonna go out and get it in paperback so I have a personal copy. I loved the archeology/anthropology angle (which I'm thinking about minoring in) and Jake seemed like such a great guy. Wonderful heroine I loved and it actually dealt with the baby snatching ring idea I'd been playing with as a storyline. Loved this one better than the entire Key Trilogy together.
Right now I'm delving into The Morning After. It's due Friday and I'm just getting around to it. I can't even re-check it out because there's a hold on it. That's a real bummer. Now I'm gonna have overdue fees.
After this I've gotta finish The Notebook. I started it durning Finals week then packed it by mistake. And I'm still on page four of DArthur so... Lots of reading to do.

The art of being confusing
gotta run to work soon. pizza duty calls. Just jumped on to email Matt. Good Lord I miss that kid. Was gonna do it last night but I was too tired. Must get on here again tonight to update the world on my computer (since it's susposed to be fixed but I haven't seen it yet). I think I need to give Tosh her own handle on this thing. Every time I come on she's got a new entry up.

Gee do they stack up...
I haven't checked my email for a complete week. I had 122 messages in my Junk Mail.
