Lisa Kleypas's new book Devil in Winter is coming out next week, and I'm on the edge of my seat because I LOVE Evie and everything I've heard so far point to this becoming my Fav Lisa hero (right now, I'm totally in love with Jack. Ah, Jack. Tosh do you remember Jack?).
I've been all hepped up about the new Rachel Gibson book, Sex, Lies, and Online Dating, but I finished that this weekend. And now, because of that damned snippet in the back of the book, I'm waiting with abated breath for Claire's story.
This is my problem with books. Well, maybe not books, but my favorite authors. I want them to write like speed demons. I want them to write as fast as I read. Hell, sometimes I wish I could write as fast as I read (especially when it comes to writing English papers which drafts are due today). But I respect that some people are just slow (Hello! Moi, here is a absolute turtle). That's why unlike Toshia, I juggle bunches of authors and bunches of release dates and stay up till four in the morning reading regularly.
Once I start reading, I have trouble stopping. It's like an addiction. I'm addicted to reading. I'm addicted to putting things on hold at the library. I'm addicted to buying books. I'm addicted to writing down every single title and author that strikes my fancy in the book section of Target. I'm addicted to the websites and blogs of my favorite authors.
It has been said before, and it will be said again: I am a book slut.
Now what are you going to do about it?
I know a good time when I see one / And when I'm in the mood I can even be one / I can lead the parade or I can stop it / Sometimes I dance in the boat just to rock it

Thank Goodness She Ditched Lance
I just finished listening to Sheryl Crow's latest album, Wildflower.
I love Sheryl the rocker.
That is not what this album is about. This is Sheryl the thoughtful songstress, which I also like, but I don't like it for an entire album. You gotta be able to sing along at the top of your lungs in the car with the windows down at least once on any album.

The Procrastinator Strikes Again
Putting off your English papers to the last minute is a VERY bad idea. Please tell me why I did this again?
Wow. The Amazing Power Of Looking
Apparently, all that mumbo jumbo for viewing the new Keith video can be ignored.
Go to www.keithurban.net
When you get to the Where are you from international page, scroll to Germany.
Click on Audio/Video
Then pick the You'll Think Of Me player connection speed.

Last night Krystle's dog Brandy visited us for awhile. Now I want a pet to stay with us all the time. Stupid pet rules.
Oooh, Oooh New Video
I know I've been going nuts about the TIWC premiere, but the new You'll Think of Me video has been release in Germany, and I've go the link to it. Right now, I'm partial to the first YTOM video, you know with the shutter analogy and everything, but this one isn't bad. I think it was filmed on the same set as Tonight I Wanna Cry, because some of the set-ups are really similar. It's also got a bit of a BFTGOG (But for the Grace of God) feel because he's wondering around town at night.
To see the video you have to click here, then on Biografien on the left, go to the scroll box and click on (K-Z), click on Keith under U, and then go to the video section of the page and click on the player of your choice under You'll Think of Me.

Wall Banging
You know when you have a scab and you pick at it even though you know it's going to bleed and hurt and just piss you off. But yet you still pick at it?
That's totally what I've been doing lately. Well, not picking scabs, but fights. With everyone. Today it's Toshia and Hiley. Yesterday it was Mel, and the girl who constantly jangles her leg in my ETHS class so it makes a constant irritating noise against the desk. Plus, I promised Amanda I'd go to Chi Alpha and instead through her over for laundry, homework, and reruns of America's Next Top Model.
Since Tuesday I've taken a gigantic downward turn, and even though I haven't calculated by biorythms or anything, I figured out my cause. I was a bit late this month. Not only getting my period, but also my PMS mood swings. Normally it happens right before. Nope. This week it's during and after.
I think that's the reason. Only now that I'm taking all these psych classes and learning about things like self-reporting biases, and the tendency of people to blame the situation, I'm starting to think I'm really crazy. And selfish. Am I'm purposefully being mean, even if I really regret going bananas ten seconds after I've spewed stuff I normally wouldn't say, didn't mean to say or do, but I've already pushed the too many buttons and hurt people so I can't take it back?
GAHHH! There is SERIOUSLY something wrong with me.

The Cold, Barney, and Personal Safety
It's currently -12 degrees out right now. It was colder when I trekked to work, but brrr is the only way I can really describe my hike across campus to the apartment after class today. I, of course, showed both my stupidity, laziness, and how oblivious I really can be. I switched over to my warmer coat, but I didn't bring my hat or gloves.
This is where Barney comes into play. And yes, I'm talking about the annoying giant purple dinosaur who was played by a woman (and voiced over by a man). On his show, they have this song (and I have no idea which one it is) but the kids sing it with these giant umbrellas painted like little ducklings. Baby beaks and all. That is what I feel like when I wear the hood on my coat, like a little duckling.
The thing just flops over my head and protects my whole head, forehead included. On days like today, that's perfect. Except I have a very small line of sight, so anybody could jump me and well, the possibilities of what could happen are endless. Especially if you're wearing shoes meant for nice spring-ish summer weather and carting a backpack filled with boulders (I mean books).

I Love This Album, But This Is Totally My Favorite Song
Follow You Home by NickelBack
Well you can dig me up a grave
And try and stick me in the ground
Well you can tie me to the bed
And try and beat me half to death
But you can never keep me down
Well you can stick me in a hole
And you can pray all day for rain
You can shoot me in the leg
Just to try to make me beg
And you can leave me there for days
And I'll stay alive
Just to follow you home
And I will survive
'Cause you're my Mississippi Princess
You're my California Queen
Like the Duchess of Detroit
And every city in between
You can slap me in the face
You can scream profanity
Leave me here to die alone but
I'll still follow you home
I'll still follow you home
You can make a couple calls
And tell your brothers I'm in town
Put a bounty on my head
And tell my parents that I'm dead
And hope to hell I'm never found
You can steal me the keys
To your daddy's Cadillac
You can tamper with the brakes
Call it a mistake
And pray I'm never coming back
You can dig me up a grave
And try and stick me in the ground
You can tie me to the bed
And try and beat me half to death
But you can never keep me down
And I will survive
'Cause you're my Mississippi Princess

Tonight
Well, technically tomorrow night since it's only 11, but close enough. By the time I actually get to bed tonight, it will be the "tonight" I'm talking about.
I don't know why this week has seemed so stressful. You'd think if I was pulling my brains out I'd, well, I'd know I was spazzing. Anyhow, I'm so ready for a beer and a night to just cut loose.
High Noon, here I come.

Video Premiere
Yahoo!Music insists that "There's nothing better than Keith Urban behind a piano." But there is, and that's Keith Urban on a guitar. However, I'll take Keith anyway I can get him, and that includes playing Tonight I Want To Cry on the pian in the snow.

I Wish...
I could have had tickets to see Jace Everett when he was the Wild 99 acoustic concert. Now I'm pouty.
However, until Toshia stampedes music retailers when his disc comes out in hard copy. (If you aren't as picky you can download it at iTunes).
Until then, I'm just going to have to be happy checking out the "Bad Things" video on CMT.com and listening to the stuff that's up on the K102 (aka Clear Channel) New Music page.

She May Be Super Skinny and Snagged "my man" But I Like Her Insight
Single Secret #4: It's OK to be picky.
Romantic road-testing isn't just fun - it's crucial, she reckons. And after years of singledom post-Tom, (And let's take a minute to point out that he's a total FREAK! No wonder she's going about it slowly now.) Nicole hasn't let her high standards drop. The question is: will Keith Urban meet them?
Nicole says: "When you get the taste of being with someone again, you can get lured back into a relationship quite quickly. I think we all want someone. But it's nice to want it instead of need it.
"I think it's got to be about looking for someone to walk alongside, rather than going, 'Oh this is someone who can fix everything, who is the answer to everything.' I think it's just whether or not you find that person - because I think there's probably a whole bunch of them - and it's a question of whether your paths cross at the time when they should.
"Because a lot of it is timing. That's something you have to give over to. You can't control it.
"You can tell yourself, 'I'd rather have somebody than nobody' or 'Oh well, they'll make a good companion or be someone to grow old with.' But I'd rather be alone than in something that I felt compromised in. I want to be able to give everything."

Ode To Thursday
Thursday you are so far away,
But you are a lucky day.
Aside from being Friday eve,
When High Noon I will see.
CMT will premiere
The man of my heart's
Sexy new video.
(That would be Keith's Tonight I Want to Cry. And from what I've seen, he's playing piano in the snow!)

*pumps fists in the air*
I got a 95 on my personality psych test. Since this area of psych has very diverging ideas from that of social psychology, I'm sure my social psych test score tomorrow will reflect it.
Morning Gilmore Girls
I love this one. It's where Alex asks Loreli to go fishing and Luke teaches her how to cast in her front yard. However, it's also the one where Luke asks Nicole out (and we all know how that ends up). But I like the fishing. It's one of my favorite parts ever.
Wild Saturday Nights
Right. So I work every other Saturday (except this weekend AND next weekend, then it's every other weekend). Saturday, I had an intoxicated student, two elevators break down, and an entire herd of people who can't read a gigantic sign saying "Open This Door and an Alarm Goes Off."

Die George Lucas Die!
I finally got to see Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. I want to understand why George Lucas felt he needed to wreck his Star Wars brilliance with these three sucky ass cardboard movies?
I love the original Star Wars. And I totally understand that to make such a brilliantly layered tale of heroism, selflessness, love, religion, hubris, (and a bazillion other adjectives and personality traits that are fully investigated in a humanities class) you need to have a background story for your characters. So why force everyone to watch that background story expecting depth and (quick look up a synonym for brilliant) compelling character situations.
No. You get a bad script, cardboard acting, confused audiences, stupid over the top special effects, one wicked fight scene with Yoda, and some tears (whether they were for poor Padame dying without getting to really see Luke and Leia or from the pathetically horrid lines and camera angles Natalie Portman had to deal with in that scene, I'm not really sure yet.)
And what's with the Frankenstein/Darth Vader symbolism. Obviously you've been influenced by Mary Shelley, George, you don't have to advertise. It made me burst out laughing. I'm glad I didn't see it in the movie theater because I'd have a bunch of die hard Star Wars/Computer Geek/thirty and forty year olds pelting me with popcorn and revolting in the theater. Because that scene was pure comic relief. It couldn't have supposed to be serious right? Right? (I think it was supposed to be serious and touching and tell you to keep your big head deflated)
Hey, S. I know it's months later (didn't it come out in like July?) but I finally saw it if you really want to discuss it.
*shakes head* And Ewan MacGregor looked really old and unhot in it. Sorta like Keifer Sutherland. He doesn't even get to use his cute accent really either.

Confession
Does anybody remember how I said I can't stand James Taylor? Well I can't. I think the man was a total sleaze and even though the music industry consists of a bunch of loobys that should belong in a circus or a psychiatrists office (Shauna can totally back me up on this), I really don't like James Taylor as a person.
But I like some of his music.
I said it. I did. Infact, I feel so guilty about this that I spent ten minutes trying to explain it to Toshia on the phone this morning. You know, like Eminem. I think the man is an awesome wordsmith and I love singing a long to a couple of his songs. How can anyone NOT love Loose Yourself (Aside from Shauna)?
Apparently, I don't have to feel guilty because Toshia deadpans, "Lisa, you like girl bashing songs. Do you feel guilty about that?" Well, no. But it's not quite the same thing. For some reason, I can not equate my liking James Taylor songs with that of Eminem and "You're mom's a whore." Is this just a weird guilty thing in my brain, or is there some serious hypocrisy going on?

The Ry Train
I am on the Ryan Cabrera train. And I'm not quite sure why. I didn't really dig his first single, "true" and then there's that corny MTV show Score! And don't even get me started on his gravity defying spiky hair and relatively pop rock sound. I just like him. His first album isn't anything spectacular (however much I love both versions of On the way down). His second album shows great promise as an artist. An that has noting to do with how hot he looks wearing socks, a tie, and his guitar. And only that. But that totally came afterwards.
Christmas Presents in the HOUSE!
My sister is weird...but she brought my christmas presents. I like her.
Wired
You'd think I have millions of liters of Code Red Mountain Dew coursing through my veins. I'm that freaking full of energy. I even contemplated dusting off a workout video because I don't really have kickboxing equipment in the apartment. And, oh yeah, I don't know how to kickbox. But right now that's what I want to do. So instead, I'm rocking out to the new Nickleback disc, wondering if Anna's gonna give me a ring back, and busting out some scary air guitar moves I've picked up from admiring Keith. Trust me, they look WAY better when he does them.

Congratulations Keith!
Keith just won his first Grammy for Best Male Country Performance for You'll Think of Me.
According to my textbook
College students are "highly trained confabulators."
Yippie! I get to train young people to become liars. Oh the future I'm looking into.

Go Grammys
Keith is up for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for You'll Think of Me. He will be performing You'll Think of Me, along with dueting with Faith Hill on her new single The Lucky Ones, which was penned by the Warren Brothers (who are friends with both Keith and the McGraw-Hill clan).
Funny Little Tidbit
filched from here.
Hot Licks
-- It's no secret that Keith Urban plays a blazing guitar. But if there was any doubt, here's proof. During Monday's Grammy Awards rehearsals, one of his amps caught fire.

I Got Up Early This Morning
And you can tell because I'm currently sporting a Pebbles Flinstone hair style circa 1986.
New York Dating Scene Circa 1450
Today we discussed the Iroquois Confederacy. And we talked about how marriages were arranged. . .by their Grandmothers.
When you got married, the men moved into the future wife's house with her family. Our professor asked how men's behavior would have to change to appeal to Grandma, like having to be humble. After all, the man doesn't have to provide for the wife, he lives with his inlaws.
Can you imagine have a man try and impress my dad, let alone my GRANDMA?

Working at the Butt Crack of Dawn
It's a lot like being in first grade again.
I set out my clothes for tomorrow. Gather all my homework in my bag. Make sure my jacket and mittens are by the door, and pick out what I want for breakfast.
When 5:30 comes, I just brush my teeth, grab my stuff, and scoot my sexy butt out the door.

Shopping With the Zoo
It's loads of fun and I had an absolute blast (Even if Toshia was a bad friend and wouldn't talk me out of two books and School House Rock on DVD. But Penny is a good mom and asked me if I really wanted to spend all that money.) singing, dancing, and playing with toys. That is, until I walked through the play kitchen isle and realized how hungry I was. And the peanut gallery cranked the "I Wants" up to eardrum shattering.
Poor Penny.
Poor Penny.

Blame Game
Toshia says she blames me and Jade because she's starting to get sick. Well, I maintain that it's Toshia's fault I got sick in the first place because as Queen of the Universe, she has power over this sort of crap.
Shame on Lisa
I'm skipping my soc psych class this afternoon. Which means Toshia is allowed to skip. Which means she came to campus today to play on the computer, eat lunch with Chris, and watch tv with me. Man is that the life or what?
Thanks Tosh
Maybe if I checked all the tidbits hanging out on my comp before I started a blog entry, I wouldn't waste my questions.

And My Girlfriends Rock
For christmas Erin gave me this spectacular ribbon board picture holder which is already covered in pics and prominently positioned by my desk. Thanks babe!
For my Birthday Toshia gave me Edward Sicssorhands, which of course as a true Depp fan I'm absolutely crazy about.
And Anna gave me my Birthday and Christmas presents, which consisted of a bean plant that is supposed to grow me a message, A Knights Tale extended edition (Woo-Woo Heath Baby!!!!) and the Dukes of Hazzard movie which just cracks me up.
I love you guys!

Idiocy, Craziness, and Other Things on my To Do List
I'm not feeling so hot (and I haven't had much sleep because I feel like crap) so all the shit I have to do seems to be compounding itself on my head.
First of all, I have a favor to run for Hot Spot, but the damn guy that I need to get in touch with so I have the address of where I need to unload things isn't in the office.
The Accounting Department, whom I was told offers to do On Campus student taxes, was apparently a crock of shit and now I have to figure out what I'm going to do for those.
I need to do laundry.
I need to grocery shop.
I need to get in touch with Mel, Lisa B., and Erin so I can figure out what my weekend plans are exactly since the Desk Manager at work once again scheduled me to work opposite of Anna, even though I expressedly told her that wasn't going to be an option.
I need to apply for my major with the College of Education because I need to get my Graduation application in (by Feb 17th I think) and I don't know exactly how to go about doing any of that.
My room is a mess.
My money keeps slipping through my fingers. No matter what my bank account says, I had much more money in there just two months ago. And I want it back.
I am in a complaining sort of mood which isn't solving anything at all. Somebody please come beat my brains in with a stick!

In Time For Tuesday
Today, my vocal register is quite similar to Miss Patty's. Watch out for my song and dance numbers today.
All Fall Down
When I got back from work this morning, I noticed something I'd missed before I left earlier. . . I'd knocked everything except one pillow on the floor in my sleep. Now I wish I knew exactly what was happening during my REM cycle.

Chinese Threat
While cleaning my room, I came across my fortune I pulled out of a fortune cookie when me and my dad snagged a late dinner in Bismarck over break. It reads:
Read in order to live.
I'm not sure if it means to read books or read that tiny slip of paper, but I regularly do both. On the back in teaches you to say "birthday" in Chinese, which was another irony, because mine was at the end of that week.

I am the Favorite. So Deal
Today Penny made cookie bars. She told her children it was because they were driving her batty and bars are quicker. But she lied.
It's because of all her children. . . I am her favorite.

MMM Night Class
I thought this night class might be one long boring bust, but it's shaping up to maybe be some fun. Craig, a fellow Social Studies major, Monticello native, and Matthew McConaughey look alike. And he plunked his butt down right next to me. So now all I have to do is poison his girlie-friend and cast a spell and I'll be set for life.
Oh,well. If I don't get around to doing that, at least we have to work on a group project in content area groups, and we happen to be the only Social Studies majors in the room.

Money, Money, Money
I have money. Well, some. I sold three of my four books at the Book Exchange, and I haven't cashed two of work checks from over vacation yet. However, today Fin Aid goes through, so I'll have to settle my bill, AND taxes are coming up. I'm just waiting on my w2's and I have to give the Acct. dept a call still too. Wow. The more I talk the more depressing this gets. I'm quitting. Promise.
Thank God for Clock Radios
If it wasn't for Wy blasting out yesterday morning, or Miranda this morning, I'm not quite sure I ever would have gotten up. Shame. Shame.

The World After Gilmore
Trust me the witty dialogue isn't catching:
Shiner Ainjil: whatever you say
Super Toshia: of course
Super Toshia: cuz im queen duh
Shiner Ainjil: yes.
Shiner Ainjil: and I'm alligator bate
No dialogue writting for a hit TV show is NOT in my future.

I Think I Have a Problem.
I think I have a thing for older men. Aside from Keith, Viggo, Hugh, and Johnny.
There's Luke (aka Scott Patterson).
Does anyone else see this trend?
(And Heath is 26. That makes him older too. Just not quite as older as the rest.)

And The Fest Continues
Tonight, me and Toshia Gilmored it up after some meat and a viewing of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Which wasn't as good as the book, but it had it's moments).
With cereal in hand, we watched Rory and Logan come together (BAD PUN!) and Luke and Lor get back together, while Richard and Emily schemed together. I gather there was a lot of togetherness going on. Which is tentatively scheduled to continue on Thursday.

Balls, Courts, and Other Gilmore Related Things
Toshia has balls in her court. In fact, she has two sets of balls in her court. She just doesn't want them.
I however, would love balls. Please feel free to discuss this with all single males that meet most of my prior criteria and send me some balls people!

Safari at 10pm
If life were a giant Savannah, Toshia would be the gazelle with a gigantic backpack (or packpack) that got left at the watering hole when the massive flesh-eating predators approached.
And I'd be the one doing stand-up for the attacking alligators.
Ba-dum-bum.

Quote From Class
Our Social Psych Professor said, "1970. Gentler times."
And I turned to Toshia and said, "yeah, because they were doped up on weed."
Me like stoner music. It really was a great era...

Question
This is most likely directed toward Shauna, but all other's who are knowledgeable please provide input.
Are political opinion polls considered to be part of the media? I mean I know they're taken by "private" companies, but since the results are made public and the media is what publishes them right?...

Robenella and the CC Stringband have a new disc out. I'm so freakin' excited that it's on CMT's listening party because these pockets are empty until after fin aid goes through.

Feelin' Like A Change
I'm feeling restless this morning. (I think it's because of the sugar) But there isn't much except cleaning to do and I'm not THAT hard up, so I changed my desktop picture. It's still Keith, but it's a picture from Farm Aid and he's all colorful and manly and jamming on his guitar.
I think I'm going to head to the public library and then over to the booksale for awhile. Ciao.

My Sister the Tall Liar
My sister claims she doesn't like things such as country music, cowboys, and other such nummalicious things. But I now have more proof that she is not only a dork, but also into hillbilly rockstars. Just check out that ensemble.
Gilmore Gala
Equipped with the sugary swag I carted home from my trip to visit my poor college student friendly relatives at the Acorn Bakery, the refreshments and yarn procured from a quick Walmart trip, and the multi-media entertainment I borrowed from the library on Friday, Me and Toshia spent ten hours sprawled in my living room crocheting, gossiping, watching Gilmore Girls season 5 (the whole reason for celebration) and consuming crap food.
And what a trip down the Stars Hollow memory lane it was! From first meeting nummy Logan, to the sexy accented Finn, the elder Gilmore's separation, the first Luke and Lor kiss to the great blow up at Emily & Richard's vow renewal. The festivities will renew themselves on Tuesday (the traditional GG night), so until then, "Bring on the imperialistic condiments!"

Krystle's BACK!!!
She just walked through the door and I was blogging...so I had to report it. Hee Hee Hee.
Shiny Dual Congrats Plus One for Keith!
Totally snitched from the .net site:
January 19, 2006 (NASHVILLE, TN) - 2006 begins with some very good news for performer Keith Urban: the artist's third album, Be Here, is now triple Platinum, marking sales of over three million albums, according to the RIAA.
"Be Here is the fastest selling record of Keith's career," said Bill Kennedy, VP Sales at Capitol Records Nashville. "The fact that this artist has scored back-to-back three million sellers - his last album, Golden Road, and now Be Here - proves Keith continues to connect with music fans throughout the country."
Since the album's debut in September 2004, Be Here has spawned a number of top hits, including three number one singles: "Days Go By," "Making Memories of Us" and "Better Life." Additionally, the videos for "Days Go By" and "Making Memories of US" achieved #1 status at music channel CMT.

Totally Urbanized
Toshia gave me my mail yesterday, and I ripped into my new Keith Calendar. Part of the packaging is a sticker replica of Keith's guitar monkey guitar picks, which now graces my cell phone. I looked over at Tosh and said, "Now my phone is completely Urbanized."
She of course laughed at me, but we'll see who's laughing later when Keith comes to the North Dakota State Fair. Any one wanna go?

Keith For A Year
Before I left NoDak, my mom asked me if I had an 06 calendar. The conversation went something like this:
"Do you have a 2006 calendar?"
"Yes."
"What's it of?"
"Keith Urban."
"Okay. I guess you don't need these kitties and puppies then."

Over break I got this absolutely wonderful email from Shauna:
I, Shauna, have purchased an actual 'Country' genred CD. Pick your chin up off the floor - there's more...
What's more than that? & I know you'll approve - it's "Golden Road".
Driving back to work "Somebody Like You" was played twice at top volume with my wonderful accompaniment. (Boy Keith & I sound really good together!) Are you smiling yet? You better be... you've RUINED me for life.
***Don't I know it. And I've got plenty of people I plan on corrupting too.

Idiot In A Tank Top
So, I am such a moron that I left everyone's x-mas presents in Nodak in my closet. Well, Anna's and Toshia's any how. How brilliant is that?
New Phones and Hot Boys
I got my new cell yesterday, and the sales guy at the mall, Adam, looks at me and says,"God, You look familiar." After establishing that I'm not in a sorority, he went about activating my phone and me and Toshia took turns mouthing, "He's Hot!" to each other.
Morning Gorgeous!
Yesterday morning, Toshia gave me a call to get my butt going so we could break the bank at the grocery store. She instructed me to, "Go make yourself beautiful."
To which I reply,"I wake up beautiful. I just have to uglify myself so ya'll don't feel bad."

Anecdote From The Shop Before I Go
So we've got the holiday tournements this week and we're crazy busy. When we finally get a little break, Mel comes into the back and asks if anyone knows who won.
I roll my eyes at her and say, "Of course not. I've been here all day. What do you think I am? Telepathetic?"
At this point, Me, Heather, and Mel all realize I meant telepathic, not telepathetic.
*shakes head*
I blame it on the dishes. Too much dish washing is bad for you're mental capabilities. I'm proof.

Doing The Grades Thing
I'm really not trying to gloat. Ask Toshia who has spent many a Tuesday cooking me lunch so I'd actually eat a whole meal inbetween finishing papers and doing homework.
But I was bored at work one day and read that I can graduate with honors if I can keep my GPA hefted up there, so here's this semster's efforts to that goal:
Health-A (God that was a lot of work for only 2 credits)
HURL 497-A (I worked my ASS off in that class and met lots of wonderful people)
HURL 498-A (Much easier class)
AI Hist-A (Yeah! Good grades for my minor)
IM-A (I Couldn't stand my professor)
Astro-A- (This class involved Physics!)
Phy Ed-B (Eh. It's gym.)
This gives me a cumulative bump to 3.7

I'm ALIVE!!!!
I know it's been forever since I've been online, but I've been working, reading, moving, and Christmasing.
Christmas was swell. We were too lazy to actually put up our Christmas tree, so I dumped some ornaments on Sampson and we had a Christmas Palm instead. I guess we were vibe-ing Kenny Chesney's All I Want For Christmas is a Real Good Tan album more than I thought. If I remember that far, I'll try and bring the pics to the pizza shop and scan them right away....if I remember.
I got some really great swag. A bright yellow toolbox, Johnny Depp poster, Grumpy Bear ornament and pen, a sweet hoodie that says Fisher University, a teddy bear wearing a Capricorn goat suit, some soap and shampoo, a game called Fact or Crap (LOTS of fun), and some other stuff that I can't remember right now.
My sisters and I are switching rooms, so half of my belongings are in the living room, half are in my old room, and I still haven't bought the paint to get rid of those weird cloud things on my ceiling yet.
I finished the 6th Harry Potter book. Finally. And I was right about who died.
And then there's work. Right now I'm doing nights, which is cool because we close at 8, but the holiday basketball tourney is this week so we're open late. Really not all that fun. But sorta. I mean, It's the pizza shop.

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee
It all started with Mike asking me if I'd drink a cup if he went and bought some. No prob.
Then he bought one of those giant can's that need to be opened with a can opener. Problem. No can opener behind the desk.
So I came to the rescue by bashing a hole in the lid with a hammer and a paint scraper deal.
Now everything should be just peachy right? Or at least woken up with Folgers in my cup?
However, Mike apparently doesn't know how to make coffee. So I doctored what had to be one of the worst cups ever with a few teaspoons of hot chocolate mix.
It was better, but had a horrid after taste.
Like I'd imagine licking an ashtray would taste.
Blech.

Going Into The Final Stretch
Tomorrow I have my Astronomy and Info Media finals. Tuesday it's my American Indian History and HURL finals, and then on Wednesday I finish up with Health. I've just put the finishing touches on my IM handouts for the presentation, and I've checked my answer keys on my old Astro tests. Let's hope thats enough prep for tomarrow, because I'm tired and I'm leaving the library to hit the hay at home with my pretty, soft, new, fuzzy, purple blanket I got from Penny, Ainjil, and the gang for christmas.

Toshia Was Talking To Drunk Boys!!!
Nothing of import happened to me, except I kept accidentally hitting Anna in the face while we were dancing on a crowed dance floor.
Anna on the other hand. . .
-fell flat on her posterior on the dance floor.
-was recruited to dance by a guy that was so scrubby he must be Kevin Federline's relative.
-got an ice cube tossed in her lap curtisey of me that was almost sent down Toshia's pants, however the fact that Tosh is at the bottom of her wardrobe saved her.
-was forced to dance with Toshia's drunk boys' friend, who was a little too boa constrictor for anybody's taste.
-And finally, couldn't hear enough to understand that drunk boys wanted her to howl.
Shame. Shame.

While I'm Still Here
Run over to CMT.com and check out Jack Ingram's new Live album. I absolutely adore Barbie Doll. There's a bunch of others, but I should really go back to my HURL paper and let Jack woo you guys by himself.
Desperately In Need of a Drink
Gah!
It's already been one of those days. Well, I suppose saying that at 1 doesn't nearly have the impact as it did at 7:45 when I first thunk it. One group meeting, shift at work (a seemingly very long one), and starting my Final project for Hurl, later and all I want to do is curl up with a beer and a remote.
It's a good thing me and the girls are going out tonight.

Working For The Weekend
So the fam came out this weekend for Christmas. It wasn't a big to-do. Mostly because I spent Friday night out with the girls and we ran into some BL guys. One of which offered to buy a round and then called me a mooch because I accepted. No wonder I didn't hang out with him during high school he's such a prick.
Anna and Tosh both of course got schnockered. And I got my buzz going just before we left. Well, about 45 mins. Before we left. LOL. I am going to decree that we really need to figure out a better drop off system now that they've changed my drive way. My house hasn't moved, but instead of 10 min, it now takes 15 to get to Toshia's so I rolled in at 3.
The 'Rents showed up about 6, and later (MUCH LATER) we made a run to Cabella's where I bough this nummy fudge dipped apple.
For Christmas I got a bunch of bakeware and a pillow. When Tosh saw it, she stared at it and said, "I've seen that before." Well, duh. It's the same Horse Tapestry Pillow Erin Has.
After The Vikes kicked ass, I started on my homework, and Me and the girls bough Christmas presents for the 'rents, we all headed over to I-hop for dinner where they forgot my pancakes.
Then Me and Tosh saw the Dukes at Atwood little theater. She wasn't impressed. I then went home and finished all five of my lesson plans.

Finals
Astro is a semi comprehensive test
Health is a presentation on my drug prevention program. However, it's due today and not done and hence will be handed in on monday. FIVE Lesson plans.
IM is a presentation of our lesson, which isn't too bad because I've already got the rubric done and have some ideas for the handout I still need to design. The webquest is another thing. Hopefully I can get most of that finished today in class.
Hist isn't too bad since I just have to write a paper. And a relatively easy one at that.
HURL is the biggie. I need to write a five day unit that I'm freaked about. Heather told me to do it on something I really love, which means I have no idea what topic in history I really love anymore. Does this make sense to you? I didn't think so. Right now I'm thinking about looking into Ellis Island. How does that sound? Immigration is lots of fun and will totally fit into an ASC/SJE deal.

Weekend in Review (Three Days Late)
Since I didn't work on my health last night, and I highly doubt I'll get much accomplished in the fourty minutes between classes.
So first, as Toshia reported, Izzy sank into a bit of a coma. Well, acutally it was more like she broke her leg. I snaped my CV shaft completely in half I guess. So now Curtis is cooling his heels in A-lot and I might possibly get Iz back this weekend when the fam comes out for Ahrens' christmas at Henry's.
Family pictures were a blast. We almost killed the poor photographer, though. As soon as I get those pics I promise to post them. Expecially since I look like a chipmonk in one of them. Damn it. If Eliza would keep her hands where they belong, Ness would look where she's supposed to, Mel would keep her mouth shut, and the photographer wouldn't wipe the camera with Winnie the Pooh's butt I'm sure it wouldn't have been such an ordeal.
After that, there was just shopping, homework, and food. Good food. Oh, and my dog has figgured out how to get out of the kennel so I chained his ass up to the basket ball hoop and carted the dog house over there. All is good.

Just Squeezing In
I'd love to give you guys a fully involved play by play of all the funny and embarrassing and even some that involve Nodak animals, but I'm in the middle of the week before finals week madness. The only reason I have time to pen you, my adoring public, this little love scrap is because my HURL speaker (heh heh heh. That sounds FABULOUS) has called in sick (Big GRIN) and so class got cancelled. I unfortunately have forgotten some of my readings, so I've got a bit of time to burn before Kayla gets through the Market line down in the food court.
I promise that as of late, late, late tonight I will have caught you all up on the goings on in my world. And I promise to leave out how I've been subsisting on frapachinos and cheetos. God. That almost sounds like the Brittany Spears diet. I think it's in for some major change because I'm aiming ALOT higher than KFed.

I got my PPST scores back. Of the three sections, I did the best in the Math. Riddle me this one.

Heading Home...Again
Once I get everything packed up, I'm going to pick up Tosh and then we're going out to my parents house for the weekend so I'll prolly be incommunicado for awhile longer.
For those of you wondering about certain rumors swirling around about a certain singer of mine, AmberJ hasn't announced anything, and until that happens, I really don't know what's up.
