All Is Good

After suffering slight problems, I got my first ED 441 Field Report in with three minutes to spare. Damned computer.

New Music

I just saw the new Blake Shelton video for "Don't Make Me" and I LOVE that song! Just fabulous. It's a crime if it doesn't hit the Top 5.

Dentistry

Teaching is hard work. I'm sure I scarred at least two kids for life today (although Anna insists they'll prolly bounce back). With all the insane crap that teachers actually have to DO and deal with, I've never really wondered if this was the job for me. I just knew it was. Or at least I did until I freaked out last night, and then taught all three periods today in class. Scary stuff that teaching.

Bones Quote of the Week

"Putting Testicles on the outside didn't seem like such a good idea"-Angela Montenegro

Big Day Teaching

So I'm starting to get a bit nervous about teaching today. I mean, I have all THREE hours. How scary is that?

I'm not too worried about 6th hour with the AP kids. I mean we're discussing how African-Americans during the Early republic are represented in our textbook. Totally something up my alley. All I'm doing is facilitating a discussion and asking probing questions. Easy as pie.

4th and 5th hour however, I'm lecturing on Progressive reforms. Gah! Lecturing. I've never "lectured" before. I mean, speeches, presentations, soapboxes, but is that really lecturing?

Apparently it's going to have to be enough.

And Lord knows I can yak for thirty minutes.

I'm just not sure how excellent I'm going to be at yakking at uninterested faces on a specific topic I'll be. With all thoughts about me raving on and on about Keith, I'm not sure 10th graders are going to be polite enough to stare into space, nod, smile, and indulge me.

Ass-Crack of Dawn

And here my lesson plan awaits.

Plus everybody's server seems to be screwy.

Last Night

The play was pretty good (pouty Romeo, flamboyant Mercrucio, gay Nurse, and all).

The company was even better (Anna, we have to quit meeting like this. LOL).

The food was fabulous (mmm...pumpkin muffins).

But the sleep was truly the best (Parting is such sweet sorrow!).

Thank You Shauna For Feeding My Habit!

Keith Urban's critically hailed fourth studio album, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing, will top Billboard's Country Album Chart this week, Urban's second consecutive album to debut at #1. Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing sales reached 267,227 copies, according to Soundscan, which also places Urban at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart.

The Play Better be Good Because I'm Missing Bones for This.

'Cause I'm missing an hour of David in a tight t-shirt and I'm going to have to cram it in this weekend.

Okay, so the craming isn't so much the problem as having to restrain myself from pushing the play button on the VCR.

Tonight's episode: Aliens in a Spaceship

When the bodies of twin teenage boys kidnapped five years earlier are discovered in Pennsylvania, Booth and Brennan find themselves on the trail of the Grave Digger, a notorious serial killer whose M.O. is to kidnap, bury his victims alive and make a single, exorbitant ransom request. If the money is not paid in the specified period of time, there is no further communication and the victims are left to die. During the investigation, Brennan and her scientist colleague Dr. Hodgins become the Grave Digger’s latest victims, forced to try to solve their own kidnapping from an underground grave.

Bleary Eyed And Ready To Party!

Right. So I totally have to finish my lesson plans, but I caught my second wind when I got out of SPED early (speaking of, I need to type and send her that paper). Oh boy.

Me Want Sleep.

Somebody please drop a meteor on my SPED instructor so I don't have to go to class. I have SO much stuff I want to get accomplished before I go see Romeo & Juliet tonight (like maybe my lesson plan for Friday) but it's not going to happen. Stupid SPED class.

Kick His Ass For Me Luke!

Stupid Chris made Lor marry him and she doesn't seem too excited.

It really sucks that I'm driving out to Nodak next Tuesday because I have to tape next week's episode and it looks like Luke and Chris are going to really go at it.

Go Luke!

Oh Barf They're Going to Paris (Not that Paris)

I'm really sick of the softness and slowness of the new GG season and I can't stand the Lor and Chris story line. I want my Luke back!!!!

Tonight's Episode: French Twist

Christopher (David Sutcliffe) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) take his daughter GiGi (guest star Nicolette Collier) to visit her mother in Paris. Despite severe jet lag, they manage to have a wonderful, romantic time enjoying the city and each other.

Back in Connecticut, Rory (Alexis Bledel) comes to the end of her tenure as Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Daily News and suddenly finds herself unsure of her future. Her new friends Olivia (Michelle Ongkingo) and Lucy (Krysten Ritter) suggest a trip to Stars Hollow for a girls' night while Lorelai is out of town. When they return, Rory is surprised to find that Lucy's new boyfriend is her old friend Marty (guest star Wayne Wilcox), who pretends not to know Rory.

Christopher and Lorelai return home with a surprise for everyone.

Keiko Agena, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by David Babcock.

One Down

I took my very first Psy 225 Psychology of Women test today.

Yeppers.

I even got a 93 on it. Not bad huh. Now all I have to do is get the rest of those tests taken.

Scary thought, that.

One Guess

As to who I'm rocking out to right now!

D-Day

That would of course be the Drop date for Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing, not the WWII deployment on that beach in Normandy.

Blessed

I am so blessed to have friends who make me feel like a part of their family. Whose families don't mind when I crash dinner, or family movie night, or hang out til ungodly hours because when I go home I'll just have to go to bed.

I am so lucky to have friends that insist that I'm not lazy, mean, bitchy, ugly, stupid, and tons of other things that I sometimes try to convince myself that I am.

I am thankful for all my friends who have let me borrow their car, shoes, clothes, hairstylists, pets, siblings, earmuffs, flashlights, and all other sorts of belongings because I have been one of the aforementioned adjectives and are without my own.

"Who Do You Like Today?"

Well, none of my pics won on Breeder's Cup Saturday, but then again, that's nothing new. I did however notice a few things about my pics:

Most started in the middle of the gate
4 started in the #7 Post Position
3 were Pletcher horses, but with him having 17 horses racing today, that might not be such a coincidence

It's Breeder's Cup Day!

I plan on watching the races, eating pizza, and maybe cleanning my kitchen.

Happy Halloween!

Bloody Vikings!

Stupid Vikings had to loose the first damned game I actually get to watch this season.

At least I have a cute little Jack-O-Lantern and some nice salty pumpkin seeds to eat today.

Oh, yeah, and I got to watch Tom Brady. Yummy.

Season One of Kelley Farm

is officially over. I met tons of cool people, learned lots of neat things, and I got to bring home a pumpkin today!

Sleepovers Are The Best!

Especially when they start with a finished ED paper and end with Belgian Waffles. And if anybody attacks me I can bellydance, salsa, double punch, downward dog, spike him away.

Happy Birthday Keith!

I hope everybody takes a minute out to day to send good wishes to him since he's working on some personal issues. I love Keith and I'm not quite sure what it will take for me to no longer support him and his music. I just don't think it's possible.

I Heart Men Who Wear Eyeliner!

I have officially joined the club. Captain Jack Sparrow. Jared Leto in Alexander. The addiction has slowly been sneaking up on me, but Luke Goss all dark eyed and oiled up in One Night With the King just really did it for me.

Mmm. Eyeliner.

It's just too bad I'm not into those skinny pale gothy boys otherwise I'd be all set.

Shopping!

I did some grocery shopping and some Target shopping today and got some much needed necessities (including Dierks Bentley's new album even if I haven't had a chance to give it a listen). Now all I have left to do on my To Do List is to actually clean and vacuum my room, call my CT and Ken about SPED stuff, and oh yeah, Homework.

Guilty!

You know how well I suck up guilt, and one of the KF bosses really tried to get me to suck it ALL up.

Thank God for Erin and her smart mouth when you need it.

GG Chili Night

Tosh brought some chili over this morning for GG tonight.

'S Wonderful, 'S Marvelous
Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) have begun to date, and although Lorelai is finding it difficult to fully commit to the relationship, Christopher keeps coming up with romantic dates to win her over.

Back at Yale, Rory (Alexis Bledel) meets some eccentric new girlfriends at an art exhibit, and Richard (Edward Herrmann) becomes a guest lecturer.

April (guest star Vanessa Marano) comes to stay with Luke (Scott Patterson) for a few weeks while Ana (guest star Sherilyn Fenn) is out of town.

Finally, Emily gets arrested and Lorelai has to bail her out of jail.

Melissa McCarthy, Liza Weil and Matt Czuchry also star. Victor Nelli directed the episode written by Gayle Abrams.

Horse of the Heart

Today someone important in horse racing and perhaps eventually in veterinary medicine had a front page story in USA Today. I of course am talking about Barbaro who is a gorgeous horse battling so many odds to be strong and healthy again. But he seems to be doing much better.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

In the article, there was a comment that so many people have gotten behind Barbaro's healing because today's professional athletes lack that something that children can really look up to.

You know, I'm not really sure of that. I think there are many great role models out there for kids, but our society doesn't really dwell on the good in people so much as the bad. We do not look at people we attribute celebrity status to as whole balanced people, but perhaps someone we own in a very superficial way.

But Barbaro and other race horses give us athletes we can respect and admire, yet they still retain that mystery that others lack. The athlete himself cannot tell us about "the zone" they were in or the mental thought processes that went into a particular decision on a play, but we are given this magical look into their soul anyhow.

Racehorses are like watching poetry. It's as simple and complex as that all at once.

Alright. So this isn't where I was planning on going with this. I just wanted to comment on how well he's doing and then point out the link on the side. That's it. I swear. I didn't mean to go all...whatever.

Wow-za!!!

There is a FABULOUS Keith photo spread (Okay. So there are words too.) in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. If you don't want to drop the buck and a half to purchase the issue, atleast browse your local newstand because it's HOT.

Oh, and there are some other country artists in there too.

Errands

I had to run to Toshia's and pick up her CD collection for a homework project (yes I did cave and do a Book soundtrack), go to the public library to drop things off and pick things up (I traded Christina Dodd's latest for a Katie Mac anthology and Windtalkers. MMM Adam Beach), and I had to hit up Target for some odds and ends (and Ice Cream which is all Toshia's fault).

Anyhow, today was a chore day, so I wondered around the apt in a brief pair of jean shorts and a long sleeve T. Since it was cold out, I just pulled a sweatshirt on for the trip.

That's right. Looking my scrubby best, who do I run into at Target? Mr. Wannabeo. He looked kinda, well. Like himself. Unkept (with weird ass hair) and it was a short and slightly uncomfortable chat, but I'm supposed to say hey to the gang. So, "Hey."

Saturday

Dierks and Miranda tickets go on sale Saturday and I've got the fastest finger in central MN on the job to score me some tickets. Who else is insanely excited about that?

Housekeeping

After the fun, relaxing, and somewhat productive weekend I had, I still can't believe how much stuff I've got to do. Mostly it's stuff I kept putting off: laundry, cleaning, homework.

The usual.

So if anybody want's to come bug me for a bit this evening it would be much appreciated.

Homework.

Yippie.

Today

I want to post but feel too lazy. I think I'm going to walk around campus carring the book I need read by Tuesday and hope that magically the beautiful weather will entice me to read it. Bah.

Nailing Details

So I have officially applied for my Psych minor and after a brief freak-out in OCE I am now officially in the computer for my field experience. There are even rumors I might have a school district that I'll be in for it, so that's exciting.

Tomorrow the plan is to drop off my Graduation application, pick up my ENGL 460 curriculm project, and stamp/distribute AEO movie night flyers.

Plus there's work and homework. As Always.

GG

I haven't come up with a decision yet about how I feel about our Gilmore Guy. I guess the jury is still out. Here's what's in store for tonight.

That's What You Get, Folks, For Making Whoopie

Rory (Alexis Bledel) is upset over Logan's (Matt Czuchry) absence and the fact that they had to cancel their long-planned trip to Asia. Wanting to cheer Rory up and take her mind off her own sad love life, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) turns her house into an Asian-themed wonderland.

Lane (Keiko Agena) returns from her disastrous honeymoon. While repairing the damage to the diner, Luke (Scott Patterson) tells T.J. (guest star Michael DeLuise) about his break-up with Lorelai, prompting T.J. and Liz (guest star Kathleen Whilhoite) to insist that Luke cover over for dinner and sympathy.

When Luke and Lorelai run into each other in town, Luke can't hide his anger over their breakup. Finally, Rory is furious when she learns that Lorelai slept with Christopher (David Sutcliffe).

Melissa McCarthy and Sean Gunn also star. Bethany Rooney directed the episode written by Rebecca Rand.

Many Thanks Before Homework This Morning

Thanks to After Midnight, Code Red, Erin (and by extention Jon) I made it home from Nodak in once piece. No thanks to Target who forgot my picture CD, you have to wait till I have time to get on the scanner before you see any pictures.

Friday, September 29, 2006

Howdy Do

The ride out to Nodak was pretty uneventfull. I just sat and steered while I yakked on the phone (if I didn't talk to you, you were one of few. Trust me.) This morning I finished my much dreaded Social Studies paper, so as soon as the dryer finishes with my clothes I'm heading into town. Yippie!

BTW I've yet to have seen any of my sisters. Just mom and dad. That's really weird.

Minute Problems

Mel got a new phone.

Good news: I can bug the crap out of her whenever I feel like it.

Bad news: We are so going to end up going over our minutes now.

Self-Motivation

It's crazy how bad procrastination really is. Right now I should be working on my Social Studies War paper, but I really just don't feel like it. I mean, it isn't really due until Friday at noon, so I can ignore it for awhile still. But what's really pathetic, is that I've already done 99 percent of my research, so it's more of just sitting down and writing the darned thing, which I should really do BEFORE I leave tomorrow.

Instead, I'm writing on here. I still have class tonight. And a lecture series to attend. And some ED 431 homework that I need to do, that I normally put off until Thursday mornings and then have to hurry through.

Right. So I think I'm done lollygaging here on the computer and I'm going to hole up in Atwood somewhere with some food and do my readings for tomorrow's class. That way I can work on my paper in the morning and finish it up in Nodak if need be.

Bad Lisa

"Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa"

Since Lance always sings that to me now, this article has some fun personal meaning, but other-wise, it's just cool in a art history, Social Science sort of way.

Keith Premiere

Check out the new video before it premieres on the music channels!

AOL Music's First Look is featuring Keith's new video for "Once in a Lifetime."

Keith's new album Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing drops November 7th.

GG Premiere

Pizza and Gossip and Gilmores! I'm so excited and anxious at the same time. What with the new Gilmore Guy behind the scenes instead of Amy and Dan, but I have to keep faith.

The Long Morrow

The seventh-season opener picks with Lorelai in bed with Christopher the morning after her argument with Luke. Now she faces the reality of her impulsive act and her belief that the engagement is over. She spends time with Rory, who is puzzled by a mysterious gift that Logan left her.

Monday, September 25, 2006

Girl Next Door

I just heard Julie Roberts version of Saving Jane's Girl Next Door and I can't even put into words how weird it sounds. I can't decide if it's because it just seems so much more "angsty angry girl" with the slamming electric guitars, or if it's because Julie sounds like she's whining instead of venting. I'm not a big fan of Julie's. That's probably why I don't like it. I think the only Julie song that I'm a real fan of is that one with the "woke up wearing yesterday's makeup" line.

Does anyone know what song I'm talking about?

Gopher Girls

At the farm on Sunday, all of us garden ladies were working, none of the house ladies were on the schedule that day which was really fun for us (you know having run of the whole place for one *grin*).

Anyhow, I had to reset the gopher traps in the garden because those damned critters are in there digging in my herb bed. This was a new experience for me because I needed to learn how to set said traps.

Anyhow, on the way back up to the IC at the end of the day, Mary Lou taught me a song and the three of us (Me, Mary Lou, and Donna) sang it all the way up to the IC.

It goes like this:

We are the Gopher girls
because we Go-for guys
they never go-for us
we all ways go-for them
And when we go-for them
they always go-for home
We are the gopher girls
Please somebody go-for us!

Chosen Addiction

Well, I think I found us a band for Tim's Benifit. . .and the cool thing is that if they do play, me and my cousins can give shit and grill for the sake of one of my bestest friends. That makes up for everything if his band really sucks.

Monday Morning

I am tired. And lazy. And hungry. I have papers to write, pages to read, homework to do, clothes to wash, errands to run, and an apartment to clean. I'm going to sit on the couch, eat cheerios, read a novel, and pretend that 30 percent of my grade isn't due tomorrow.

Thursday isn't going to come soon enough this week. I can tell.

Friday, September 22, 2006

Eureka!

I had an epiphany about why I've been cranky, and snappish, and greasy, and eating badly, and acting like melodramatic diva bitch, during my pizza dinner it hit me in the gut, or rather much lower in the abdomen like in the uterus. Oh yes. That goes along with being insanely busy. You forget what time of the month it is.

Not that I'm one for passing the blame onto being one of the "weaker" female persuasion that begs out at this sort of thing and rails about how it is such a hindrance. Nope. I'm totally one for owning up to my actions. But at least it can help me explain what caused my inattentiveness and where the sudden urge to hurl myself to the ground and start wailing came from.

Wednesday Night Speicals

Here are the specials that would accompany RC Wednesdays with MP playing:

Wednesday
Smirnoff Night
Bottles of MGD and Miller Lite for $1.50
All Smirnoff Drinks for a $1.50

MP

McKinley Place is playing the Carpet again on Saturday night and I would love to go...I just don't know if I'll have the energy. Plus I'll have a visitor from "Up North" (Ha! Erin I can totally say that.) and I think we might wanna be a bit more low key.

Anna - I move we make wednesdays at RC mandatory! Now we just have to figure out the good drink specials...

Friends

I have wonderful friends, and I want to thank each and everyone of you for helping me out this week while I've been having a near colossal meltdown. After my workshop I attended today, I can only tell you that it's going to get worse.

Victory! Well, At Least A Small One

Lori emailed me back about those volunteer hours.

(arms are being thrust into the air)

So once I schedule them, I'll be REALLY busy.

Tim's Benefit

So I finally printed off the flyers for Tim's benefit. Anybody got any ideas about where we could post some of these?

Anna's Secret Doppleganger!

Well, her name is actually Anna Doll, but it still cracked me up.

The VP

I'm so sick of people telling me that everything is fine and that me doing my crazy frantic headless chicken routine is okay because they're there to pick up the slack and everyone is going nuts right now, and then turns around and starts complaining to everyone about me. I'm not a fucking magician. I can't do everything. I'm sorry I'm not on call twenty-four hours a day to do your bidding but I've got this little conflict with something I like to pretend is a life. I really don't give a shit about what you are juggling, I'm trying to keep my own head above water right now and your bullshit doesn't really help with that now does it?

Mormen?

How bad is it that I had to check Utah's tourism site to make sure I spelled Mormon right?

How I Met The Mormons

So I was heading over to the public library to get some of my books on hold when I got hailed by these two guys on the street. They said, "Hi!' and yadda yadda yadda.

Anyhow. They were these two guys for the Mormon church walking around and trying to proseltize their religion. They of course wanted to know if I was religious and stuff. Then proceeded to relate to me how Mormons really respect Martin Luther.

I, of course, at some point am going to have to teach developing minds about the worlds religions so I stopped for a bit of a "getting to know Mormonism" session. Then I found out I know a shocking amount of information about the Church of Latter Day Saints. When he asked if I knew that their church was founded here in the U.S. and I said yes, you could totally tell that he was trying to fastforward his script to his next selling point.

Then after the religious discussion was over they made cracks about my footwear. Apparently Minnesota weather is too changeable for a couple of Idaho (Idahoians? Idahoees? Idahoanites?) natives.

Keith Fix!

I totally shoplifted this from the .net site.

KEITH URBAN NAMES FORTHCOMING RELEASE
Keith Urban's forthcoming release on Capitol Records Nashville now has a title. His fourth studio album will be called Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing, and is slated for release on November 7th.

Keith returned from London this past week, where he performed at the EMI Conference. He is back in Nashville, where he is putting the finishing touches on Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing.

Frantic

So in high school, I always though this Jamie Oneil song was a true discription of my life. But then I came here to college and go really lazy. Yesterday however hailed the return of that frenetic pace. Expecially when you consider that from 8:30am to midnight I was home a grand total of 2o minutes and in that time I whipped out a fast paper and e-mailed it to my prof. I'm thinking that being on the farm on the weekends is only going to keep contributing to this.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen

Smuggling alcohol into the building by stuffing it in duffel bags and suitcases is so freshman dorm. Now you just casually haul it in hidden in your grocery bags.

For Those Parties Whom Jealousy Is Imminent

I sat next to Kellen again today.

Oh, The Pain!

Alright.

So it's not really that bad.

Tonight I got the chance to sub on Casie's indoor volleyball league team. I had a total blast and I'm hoping I get the chance to do it again some time. Either that or else the gang up here is going to have to check out a raquetball court in the field house for some wallyball.

Anyway, I managed to jam my thumb so it's sore and ouchie. And since I refuse to be a sissy and complain out loud, I'm totally being passive-aggressive and complaining here.

I Wonder. . .

If Ian thinks I talk too much. We have this one class together that's all about student generated discussion, and I totally got worked up in there about what teacher's should do when they have to teach something that goes against their personal values (try to teach it objectively as possible and ask the students to critically analyze it. Duh. Ethically, teachers should be teaching based on the students' needs, not their own values/agenda/interests).

This of course finally sparked some classroom debate, but also loosened my tongue to talk about ALL the questions. It wasn't like I interrupted anyone, was disrespectful, or talked out of turn, but the prof did give everyone a talking to about how it was a discussion based class and not everyone participated.

Hey There Trendy Girl!

So, I'm hoping Becky and Toshia will corroborate my opinion, but I look damn sexy (and trendy!) today. I wore my new Paul & Joe cat shirt from Target with a white tank top underneath (and the ubiquitous jeans and flip-flops).

Now I thought I was stylin' and according to most teenage fashion trends, they think I was too.

Better Late Than Never

Around finals last semester one of my authors released a book I was impatienly waiting for The Taming of the Duke (go ahead and laugh.) Anyhow, I got so busy I never really read the book. I couldn't get into it right away and other stuff just came up. But now I have finished it, and it gets a stamp of approval. I'm wating for Josie's book on pins and needles, but I'm just not certain if I can see her with Mayne, even though he's a very logical choice.

Tacos Part Deux

Technically it wasn't the Press's tacos that made a reapearance in the dumpster, but my toast. However, I still had vomit breath all through my methods class this morning.

Classic Irony

When I got up this moringing, my alarm clock was playing Steve Holy's Good Morning Beautiful. After last night's welcome back session, I crashed, but woke up this morning with a killer headache, tossed what was left of my tacos, and class at nine.

All That's Left Is To Pick The Date!

DIERKS BENTLEY IS "LOCKED & LOADED" THIS FALL WITH A HEADLINING TOUR SPONSORED BY BUD LIGHT

The tour will feature over three hours of unbridled live music by the multi-platinum singer/songwriter and his friends and openers CMA Horizon Award nominee Miranda Lambert, whose debut album "Kerosene" was recently certified GOLD, and introducing the Randy Rogers Band, whose debut album on Mercury Records hits stores this Sept.

By issuing general admission tickets on the floor of most venues, Bentley hopes to recreate the intimate feeling of the smaller club shows he has played over the last four years. Some reserved seating will also be available in each venue.

"I've really shaped my career around my live show because that's where it started for me...playing for nothing but tip jars and alcohol," says Bentley. "If we do it right, the fans won't even notice we are in a bigger venue this time around."

Tin Can Broadcasting...Over and Out

I'm now officially moved back into the St. Cloud apt. My stuff is everywhere and my walls are all empty and echo-y.

Today's a big day. Ainjil's first day of kindergarten. I can't wait until Tosh gets back up here and fills me in on how it went. LOL.

Otherwise today is filled with unpacking, organizing, shopping, spending money I don't want to, and the normal adjustment to a new space with a new roomie (Hello new Amanda!).

Grocery shopping is on the list to do, since all I have is diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper and some pickles and sketti noodles. Not much there.

So right now I'm sipping soda, listening to The Randy Rogers Band (who are going on tour with Dierks and Miranda!!!), and half assed putting my room to rights, which really means I have crap spread out all over and I'm futzing around on the computer.

Back to work. I know.

Myspace

I know everyone thinks I'm weird because I rarely go on my myspace page. Mostly it's because I'm lazy.

Second is because I don't really get the point (say it with me: "LOSER!").

Thirdly, because my grandma is a huge Dateline fan, I actually saw the ENTIRE internet preditor series and it creeps me out.

Fourthly because I can't decide if I attract weird people, or if I am the weird person and everyone else is normal.

If anybody actually understands what I'm talking about feel free to e-mail me for the whole thing. LOL.

Busy Week

Today: Lunch with Amanda and my Genetic Modification of Wild Rice paper is due.

Wednesday: Work and then Volley Ball Tournaments

Thursday: Granddma's Dr. Appt, Make sure her dress for the wedding fits, Presentation on wild rice paper, Mom and the girls are driving down...I think.

Friday: Find a shirt to wear with my KICKIN' skirt to the wedding, Bobby's wedding

Saturday: REN FEST WITH ERIN!!!! ( Man I miss you kiddo!)

That Other Marriage

So Sunday, my dad calls me before work to update me on what's been going on. That's when things got really funny.

Apparently my mom's been really busy this week with meetings for the Chamber and Vanessa's softball games, plus she's leaving on Thursday to come out here for my cousin's wedding. My dad good naturally complained that he wasn't getting a day off this week and my mom shot back that he had one off last week in which he got to go to Minnesota to see his daughter so quit complaining.

This is when Melissa stepped in with "Daughter? What daughter?"

To which my dad replied "the one from my first marriage?"

Apparently Melissa got this stupid look of disbelief on her face until she says, "oh yeah. Lisa's in Minnesota!"

Right then Vanessa popped around the corner and Mel says to her "Ness, did you know we have a half sister?" and Dad adds "and one with only half a brain?"

At this Vanessa leans around the partition that separates the Kitchen from the rest of the restaurant and shouts across the room to Eliza "Hey we have a half sister with only half her body parts!"

When I hang up and relate the story to Toshia she starts laughing and asks if his first wife was a blue woman. This of course has to do with that wonderful running joke about me being found on the doorstep. And how in high school when my hands got dyed blue from helping Toshia with her hair it wasn't really dye, but my home planet calling for me.

S-day

That would be single drop day since Keith's new single drops today and I have yet to listen to it through no fault of my own (Shauna insists that this is a sign that I am a bad Urbanite.).

New Keith Single Update

From CMT.com

Keith Urban Reveals First Single From New Album

Keith Urban is preparing to release the first single from his new album that's scheduled to arrive in stores this fall. A press released issued by his publicist describes the single, "Once in a Lifetime," as "another in a line of upbeat, infectious rockers that have come to be one of Urban's trademarks." He wrote the song with longtime collaborator John Shanks. They previously co-wrote two of Urban's biggest hits, "Better Life" and "Somebody Like You." Urban continues working on the new album with co-producer Dann Huff.

It's No Wonder I Love Eloisa

Finally got a chance to read Squawk Radio today and found Eloisa's INTRODUCING...COUNTRY ELOISA entry which, while funny enough included this little excerpt that forever will warm my heart:

"I will leave the abyss of my knowledge of country music to your imagination. I will say that I really liked the movie Nine to Five and I once saw Keith Urban in a hotel and thought he had amazing shoulders."

I concur about the shoulders.

RenFest

I just checked the dates for RenFest and found out that I could possibly go opening weekend, sunday of the Buccaneer Beer Fest, or maybe during Labor day weekend if I take one of those days off.

So...Who wants to go?

New Song Alert

Right now I'm digging this little played song called "Tim McGraw" by youngin' Taylor Swift.

Keith News

Keith Urban says that he's putting the finishing touches on his new album. "We're in the studio now about half way through the new record which I hope will be out in the fall with a new single Augustish," he projects. (Yanked from here.)

Brain Stuffication

At least that's what it feels like right now. I've never really had to worry about formal education during the summer months, so now it feels like I'm trying to cram information into a vessel that isn't equipped to deal with it.

Actually, I'm just inherently lazy.

After all, I haven't been up to much. Just working at the farm, preparing for San Antonio and the youth convention, and reading.

Really. That's nothing.

No wonder my brain hurts now.

Remember The Alamo!...But Forget the Snow Cones

So we did the Alamo in style today. Or at least I did. The boys weren't too enthused and left early to get something to eat, which is sort of confounding seeing as we had to wait for them to finish their snow cones before we could even enter the shrine. Then they insisted on doing that Touristy trap Ripley's haunted house stuff.

I picked up some post cards, so if I can find stamps and a post office, ya'll should be getting something in a few days. Well, SOME of ya'll. I realized that I forgot Erin and Anna's addresses, so ya'll prolly won't get a post card until I'm back, or unless I can steal it from somewhere. LOL.

I also got to do some Cherokee Stomp Dancing. That was really neat and it's something really cool and fun I can share with Dr. LaCourt once I get back to school.

tomorrow I want to do HemisFair Park which includes the tower of the Americas and the institute of Texan Cultures. We'll see what the guys have in store.

Rock Me Baby!

I LOVE San Antonio!!!!

The weather is fabulously hot. I like it. The kids don't, especially the guys who run for shade and air conditioning every chance they get.

The hotel is, well, it's a La Quinta. It's not like we're staying at the Marriott, the Hilton, or any of the other nice hotels. The pool is fun though. And I've got a pizza drawer.

We did up the interaction center in style today. I'm now an investor 'cuz I won $25 from the Mission Fund Investment deal. Plus I went shopping. Shirts, jewelry, books. It's a good thing they take check cards. LOL.

I've seen some cute guys, one being our Hard Rock waiter whom the boys are convinced is on speed. I've spent most of the trip in one of those double check kind of deals where I'm trying to decided who is underage. Trust me, not many males in my age cohort are here. Damn.

I made a unilateral decision to see the Alamo tomorrow. Especially after all the pictures I took on the River Walk cruise today. We've got computers here, so I can maybe type ya up something later.

Vacation? Ha!

I'm going crazy with these last minute San Antonio details. I can't wait until I sit my butt down on that plane.

I know I've been horribly lax with this baby lately. I just keep hoping everything will settle down enough so I can blog propper. Well, we'll see i guess.

Frida

Today I watched Frida staring Selma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Antonio Banderas, Ashley Judd, and a bunch of other people.

It was HOT. (Tango!) And sexy, and sad. Well, duh. If you know anything about her you'd know that. But I've found how much I admire her work even if it's kind of scary and isn't my normal sort of thing. I definately see her as a strong woman and a strong presence to be looked up to. Look for her to be mentioned my my history classes.

Vive la Mexico!

Okay. That sounds real cheezy.

Did I mention I'm going to San Antonio in less than a month and I'm getting mondo excited about it?

Yeah. I thought not.

Tin Can Broadcasting...Up and Going

Right. So this is coming live from Grandma's.

I have to pee like the dickens but I'm afraid to go do that because I only get a couple of free net hours each week and if I'm wasting my minutes peeing...eh. Ya'll got cell phones...You know the drill.
