I don't know how true this is to being a pilot considering they have things like maps, instruments, a set course, and air traffic controllers directing them, but it is quite fun and addicting. Perhaps even more so if you actuall think you know a thing or two about Geography. Give it a shot. I dare ya.
I know a good time when I see one / And when I'm in the mood I can even be one / I can lead the parade or I can stop it / Sometimes I dance in the boat just to rock it

Working for a Living
I've been so incommunicado lately because I've been doing the working thing. Lots of hours have been put into the part-time job as we prepare for opening the new store (just three more weeks to go! I've been inside and let me just say...FABULOUS!) Also, I've picked up a couple of substituing days. I've decided that I don't hated 9th graders. I just do no enjoy the 2011 class at one of my school districts. They are mostly giant boogers that need to be wiped out. Or at least get a big tough love lesson in R-E-S-P-E-C-T from Miss Aretha herself.

Things I Miss About College
Having goofy work hours like from 6-9am then 4-5pm.
The amenities in my apartment: dishwasher, stove, $1 laundry machines next door, a roomate that bakes me cookies, cable, free newspapers, high-speed internet
Not having to pick up after myself unless people are over, coming over, or have just left
Having friends next door, across the street, and down the block
Thirsty Thursdays
Not feeling like a freak if I choose to stay up until 4 am or go to bed at 11
Walking to the library
Ah, it's just nostalgia kicking in since I've got dial-up going...it'll stop I'm sure. Maybe, ya know. Once I get a damned job or atleast hear back from one of the trillion places I've applied. School keeps looking better and better even if all I'd be doing is shoving my head in the sand.

Hitting the Point
I'm sick of it.
I just want to be finished.
I want to be at that point where all i have to do is go to work, come home, and cash a pay check. I'm sick of all this other bullshit. However, I know that's being really idealistic. Because in the real world, all the "other bullshit" doesn't disapear but take on new and unexciting personas. Gah.

Party On Party People
Everybody raise a toast! My dreaded and terminally late annotated bibliography is finally completed and submitted. I now half an hour to relax before work.

Names
I'm sure my psych book is trying to say, "Yes! Lisa you ARE a primeval warthog!" But all it's really telling me is, "Yes! You are a PROCRASTINATING SLACKER!"

All Is Good
After suffering slight problems, I got my first ED 441 Field Report in with three minutes to spare. Damned computer.

Dentistry
Teaching is hard work. I'm sure I scarred at least two kids for life today (although Anna insists they'll prolly bounce back). With all the insane crap that teachers actually have to DO and deal with, I've never really wondered if this was the job for me. I just knew it was. Or at least I did until I freaked out last night, and then taught all three periods today in class. Scary stuff that teaching.
Big Day Teaching
So I'm starting to get a bit nervous about teaching today. I mean, I have all THREE hours. How scary is that?
I'm not too worried about 6th hour with the AP kids. I mean we're discussing how African-Americans during the Early republic are represented in our textbook. Totally something up my alley. All I'm doing is facilitating a discussion and asking probing questions. Easy as pie.
4th and 5th hour however, I'm lecturing on Progressive reforms. Gah! Lecturing. I've never "lectured" before. I mean, speeches, presentations, soapboxes, but is that really lecturing?
Apparently it's going to have to be enough.
And Lord knows I can yak for thirty minutes.
I'm just not sure how excellent I'm going to be at yakking at uninterested faces on a specific topic I'll be. With all thoughts about me raving on and on about Keith, I'm not sure 10th graders are going to be polite enough to stare into space, nod, smile, and indulge me.

Bleary Eyed And Ready To Party!
Right. So I totally have to finish my lesson plans, but I caught my second wind when I got out of SPED early (speaking of, I need to type and send her that paper). Oh boy.
Me Want Sleep.
Somebody please drop a meteor on my SPED instructor so I don't have to go to class. I have SO much stuff I want to get accomplished before I go see Romeo & Juliet tonight (like maybe my lesson plan for Friday) but it's not going to happen. Stupid SPED class.

One Down
I took my very first Psy 225 Psychology of Women test today.
Yeppers.
I even got a 93 on it. Not bad huh. Now all I have to do is get the rest of those tests taken.
Scary thought, that.
