Of all things....and monkey barf.

I have this problem.

My name is Lisa, and I cry at movies.

The Little Mermaid. Cried at that. Troy. Yummy. I cried at that. Come on, Brad Pitt dies. It's safe to say I also cried during Legends of the fall, Meet Joe Black, and A River Runs Through it. Let's see, what else. Titanic, Pearl Harbor, even though I didn't really like it, The Notebook, Fried Green Tomatoes, Frequency, The Green Mile, The very first time I saw Dirty Dancing, I think I was like ten, Little Women, Gone with the Wind, I think you get the idea. The list goes on and on. I did cry during Alice in Wonderland, but I wanted to go home at that time and Alice couldn't. Totally different kind of thing.

I still cry during The Patriot and that's my favorite movie. I can finally handle Heath Ledger dying, but when that little girl starts talking to her dad again. Man, my eyes well up all by themselves.

Anyhow, Toshia finds this strange curse of mine funny. We went to see Moulin Rouge and while Nicole Kidman is dying, I'm bawling, and Toshia is laughing at me. This weekend Moulin Rouge is playing on campus so I decided to go with Becky. I did really well until Ewan McGregor started crying. So as a few glistening tears are leaking out, I decide to find something else to counteract the waterworks. That's when I noticed that in that scene, Ewan looks like a constipated monkey trying not to throw up. This statement worked rather well. I then had to try not to laugh at this sensitive and climatic moment in the film. Holding back laughter makes my eyes water also I guess.

Not pretty.

When taking tests...

I had a bit Ed test today. The first one ever. I didn't study much all week. Infact, I hadn't read two of the chapters. Toshia, my wonderful roomie and bestest friend in the world and sorta competent navigator and shotgun rider, wrote out all of our flash cards. There were lots and lots and lots and I could keep up with the lots but it still wouldn't give you an accurate picture of how many cards there were.

Anyhow, I cramed this morning and afternoon. By the time the test came around I was pretty confident.

So there I was, white version of the test, sharpened pencil, flip-flops kicked off, leg bouncing, humming "walk like an Egyption" throught the entire test. God, I hope I did well.

About that shopping nonsense...

Monday Toshia and Anna went shopping because their brand of jeans are on sale this week. Tosh tried on a new pair of jeans and they were just a smidge too big. She's such a nice roomate that she asked me if they fit so I could have them instead of returning them. They fit. They're exactly one size smaller than my current pants so, I'm happy. She however is not. While my waist line is slowly decreasing, her's is expanding. (I'm gonna catch hell for that I'm sure.) That is how I found myself in the car crusing to the mall listening to Gary Allen's Nothing on But the Radio, thinking about my last trip to the mall.

On the way there, the three of us (Tosh, me and Anna) were crammed into Anna's truck with the windows down flipping through our country stations looking for a good song that fit the mood. All of a sudden we hear my second favorite B&R song. Of course, Save A Horse wasn't coming from our radio. It was coming from the CD player of a very fine looking man in a white truck passing us. It just goes to show how universal good music really is.

On the way home, a blonde in a taurus on a cell phone gave me a dirty look for singing and banging the side of the truck along with Gretchen Wilson's Here For the Party.

This is also the trip where Anna forgot her muffin at Perkin's and the waitress was nice enough to chase us out of the resturant with it. Come to think of it, the boys that followed us out weren't impressed with our knowlege of Awful Beautiful Life (Daryl Worly) lyrics either.

Oh, and this morning I was singing keith's DGB on my way out the door, then I heard WWWBM playing in the lobby. That was good think music for my morning Geography test.

Shopping

Being abducted by Tosh to run to Penny's tell you all bout it when I can excape.

Where's hazardous to my what?

This article was really interesting. Well, it wasn't a best selling novel and it wasn't exciting, but it wasn't something I've ever thought about before.

After reading it and thinking it over, I can see where suburban living could be a problem. Back when I lived in CH I did walk an awful lot. I walked to school, to the stripmall, to friends houses, to McDonalds, K-mart, the gas station. I also was too young to have a car, but I think I'd definately have still walked alot even if I hadn't moved.

Here at SCSU I walk alot on campus and sometimes over to the historic downtown, which is close by. The real downtown however is too far to walk so I normally drive there. I suspose I could take the bus and do somewalking, but that seems strange to do for some reason. I mean It's not like I'm doing anything different. I'd still be sitting on my butt. Oh well. Interesting bit of info.

Lazy ass

I did homework today. Or, I'm trying to do homework today.

Got a possible lead of a job. Gonna get on that tomarrow between my tests. I have two tomarrow. Not ready for either of them really.

I'm so sick of being lazy, but I've got into that pattern and now I have to change an entire habit. A lifestyle at this point. I don't know when I became such a lazy one. Mebbe living in little square rooms depresses me or something. I don't know. I just need to do something and all I do is complain about needing to do something. Mebbe it's because I don't know what I need to do. I've never had this problem before. I've always been one of those frantic little do-gooder types that has fifty million places they need to be and things they need to do. I don't have that anymore. I think that's the second reason I need a job. So I have a place I need to be. Mebbe I'll volunteer somewhere too. I could teach sunday school again. Last I heard they still needed more teachers. I think you switch off days you're there. That could work for me.

Going to study about geography now. Climates and Weather. I'd rather be out side swimming in the river. But it's too cold in the water and I have a test. Ick.

Breeder's Cup is heating up to the big time

I'm a big fan of Horse racing. I don't know why. It's not like movies or reading where there's sexy males and lots of action.

Oh, wait a minute.

Yes. That is why I love it. Even if the males are four legged and of another species. And don't go expecting any Lisa Thurorbred babies to rival those of Donkey and Dragon.

Any how, the Breeder's Cup is on the 30th of this month in Texas. I haven't really checked out the list of contenders but this little news worthy tidbit I snitched and posted will make all you unfollowers odds alot better.

Here's to hoping it helps me too.

filched from here.

An Article for Angel

I'm not a over the top Beatles fan. In truth, I lean more towards the George Harrison than the John Lennon tunes. Here comes the sun being one of my all time favorites. And everybody knows how I feel about *shudders* Hey Jude. *puts hand to heart*

Yep. Still beating.

But that's a McCartney tragedy.

But I thought this was a juicy bit of gossip. So here. I'm a gossipmonger now.

Tuesday 'tude

I watched tonite's Gilmore Girls and couldn't be more happy. This Loreli and Luke thing, it's so cute and has my stamp of approval. I'm not big on Rory and Dean. Personally, I don't think Jared Padalecki or however it's spelt, is hot. I'm a big fan of Naked Guy aka Marty. He really works as a potential love intrest.

They also introduced a new dude. Logan I believe his name is. Not sure I like the actor. Love the 'tude. I like 'tudey guys. I also like dirty guys. Well, not dirty but dirty you know? That still is messed up. Ah, I got it! I like dirty guys not scrubby guys. Viggo Mortensen not Kid Rock. The new guys' just too. Clean I guess. My mom likes those clean babyfaced types. Ick.

Hum. One Tree Hill is going. And staying intruging enough for me to remain an avid fan. The Nathan and Hailey thing is adorible, but being married in highschool is a bit out of my knowledge zone. Still one of Chad's fans. He's a babe. And strangely, is only bordering my dirty guy thing. Some days he has it, some days he doesn't.

Right. Going to go read a Meg Cabbot book. It's my first adult contemporary of hers. Called She went all the Way, I believe. It's the third book I've read with an actor in it in a row. Must find a new character hero type soon. Macho actor boys are getting to me.

The scourge of Hip-hop

Now don't get me wrong, I love Mary J. and OutKast and all sorts of bands. When I mention that I actually enjoy the same sorts of music as what some people term "normal" teenagers their eyes bug out. I listen to Eminem, Nelly, Missy Elliot, Destiny's Child, and the like. I'm also a big fan of Train, Puddle of mud, Matchbox 20, Eve 6, Eagle-eye Cherry, ect. Not to mention my obsession with Country dudes and the Classics of Southern Rock. I also chill out to Garbage, and some times I go for Tool, Korn, and Godsmack along with the odd assortment of 93x music when I feel "in the mood."

For me however, when the mood to rock comes upon me, NO ONE beats out the legends: The Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Doors, the Dave Clark five, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Johnny Cash, and especially, the Rolling Stones.

Yesterday, I motivated my self enough to open the door, dress, and start cleaning. (and yes, it was in that exact order.) To do this, I put the Stones in the DVD player and cranked it to a moderate if-Tosh-was-farther-down-the-hall-she-would-approve level. ( I will admit that the volume fluctuated when I got to Get off of my Cloud because that's my fave Stones tune. ) However, halfway through Ruby Tuesday, the girls next door crank up their radio and start in with the double bass.

Alright, my music is a bit too loud. I can handle that. I turn it down a few notches. They wail theirs higher.

Fustrated to no end, after twenty minutes of whomping hip-hop beats drowning out the superior rhythm and vocals of Mick, Keith, and the boys, I pull out the most annoying CD I own (and love). I crank the TV up to top volume capacity and press play to Mister-Livin'-La-Vida-Loca himself. After about ten seconds of that I turn it down and insert vintage Backstreet Boys at normal levels and sing at the top of my caterwaling lungs.

Did I mention I was and possibly still am to a certain degree a full supporter of boy bands?

Oh, and my Chieftains CD should be in at the library by the end of the week?

Beating the dead horse.

I know putting this article here is like preaching to the choir, but I'll go into my teacher voice and say plagerism is wrong. There's a bunch of ways you can plagerise that most people don't recognise as plagerism, and the big whopper: teach other's not to cheat simply because it is wrong. I know I learn more and more about it as I pass through the hallowed grounds of SCSU.

I cheated once when I was in seventh grade on some math quizes. I've always hated math and was disapointed that my scores were dropping so bad. A friend called me on it, I exonerated myself. And now I've become the caped crusader for stealing and cheating.

What would people say if they knew the Lightning girl had stooped to this? Actually, it prolly doesn't come as much of a susprise. People! Talk to your kids!

Tame is an understatement

Ususally the hits on my blog come from SweetandSour goth or from that Next Blog button. When my blog comes up for searches, it's normally things like "keith urban" "dierks knee surgery" "Johnny Depp country video" and the like.

Today I got a hit by somebody searching for "Dolly's boobs Naked".

Now I may not know Dolly personally, but any picture you find that claims to contain that is most likely digitally enhansed. The woman is really rather modest for all her brassy humor. Get a life. The woman's old and getting a breast reduction anyway. Besides, I wouldn't want to look a woman's close to sixty year old breasts. Then again, I'm a girl and breasts really don't hold much mystery for me.

Random blabbering nonsense

I don't know what to blog about. I just had the urge to do it now. I'm listening to Katrina Elam righ now on CMT's listening party. She's a new artist who's album just came out today. Infact, I'm thinking about skimming some money to go buy her cd. She's also the opening act for Keith Urban when I go see him on the 19Th of November in Sioux Falls. That seems like such a long wait.

Thinking about being lazy again today. Doing a pretty good job so far, but no where near as good as Toshia. She's still in bed.

Read Opposites Attract by Hailey North last night. Should write up a quick review. Soon. Promise.

I've also got some Elton John albums from the library waiting for me to give a listen. Mebbe I can filch some of Tosh's double A's and get my disc man working.

Tomarrow's women on Wednesday is about GLTB and politics. It sounds really interesting so, I might show up there. Otherwise, we've got some singer playing live at lunch in the Quarry. Any one ever heard of Nini Camps?

Maybe I'll go read for my SA hist class tomarrow night. Nothing like the early history of South Africa for a pick me up. Oh wow. That was depressing. Screw that. I'm gonna put in the Stones and read today's paper.

Hum-in-a Hum-in-a Hum-in-a

I don't feel like starting on doing anything productive. I really should. Like Ed Psych homework and such. Ew. Don't have the feel for it yet.

Did some unpacking from this weekend. Really wishing I had a pumpkin to carve or something. I always loved doing that. I think Halloween is my second favorite holiday. It's always been something I looked forward to and never let pass up.

The thing I find funniest is that neither of my favorite holidays revolve around gift giving. Or even really getting stuff. The fourth of July is all about fireworks and grilling hotdogs and the birth of our country. Halloween is darker, colder, deader. I love the costumes and folklore, and of course those caramel apples. Candy is more of a little kids thing now. I haven't trick or treated since. Well, prolly senoir year of highschool or so, mebbe it was junior year. I was a pirate. Must have been junior year. Senior year I was a bar wench and we toasted Toshia's grass skirt at Matt's house.

I should go clean something. Hum. I love this song. I'm listening to the Stones today. I guess they're really not autumn music, but classic rock just might be the music of my soul. Along with country, and blue grass, and some of that celtic stuff. Oh and bagpipes. God I love those.

A woman's perogative.

I changed my mind. I've been hardly laboring over my Halloween costume for about Three months now. In a fit of genius or blind stupidity I found a costume that eclipses my gypsy yearnings. I am now beyond excited because I'm going to be...

Duh-done-dee-duh

I'm gonna be Medusa.

I saw this cheap looking, but very uncheap costume that consisted of a black dress and a very ugly and stupid looking snake tiara.

So I'm going to revive my toga days of freshman year and go with some wicked rubber snakes in my hair. Plus, like that year, soon after Halloween and my fantabulus hair-do, it's going to get hacked off.

Well, That was a first for me.

It all started with Toshia saying "lets go shopping." Well, It actually started with Rascal Flatt's new album coming out, hence why we needed to shop. Anyhow, it turned into me, Tosh, her sister Erin, and her mom running around shopping today. Toshia convinced me we needed groceries. Me? I would have sat around starving for another week. But convince me she did, so fifty bazillion bags later on the front lawn, I loaded up my car and made my way back to school.

In the car, Toshia was talking about her game plan of leaving all the non-refrigeratorables in the car. Me? I'm lazy enough to carry them all in one trip. Complaining and whining about using the elevator.

Toshia treks it on up the stairs. Following at a much slower rate, like a staggering walrus I carried forth. By the second floor landing I had my pants around my knees and was holding 'em up with the apples and caramel dip.

Oh the joys of shopping.

I Got Published!!!!

Right, so in the University Chronicle last week there was this opinions letter about President Bush that was beyond ridiculous about him being the greatest president ever in the history of the United States. I wrote a quick rebuttal and sent if off. Thinking that mebbe I had a shot in the dark about getting it in the paper...And I did!!!

For all you Hallowed freaks

Found this website that Erin is going to love! It's your one stop shopping guide for Halloween. I know, I've been in a funk because summer is over. But today I've officially crossed over to the "crazy about fall" "awestruck by autumn" "hyped for Halloween" phase. I can't wait to go to the apple orchard and have fresh apple cider. Hayrides, carving pumpkins, eating squash, trying to find the perfect shirt to go with my very mismatched halloween costume, watching classic scary movies and spooky specials on the history channel. Bring it on.

I'm serious about my halloween costume though. I could go two ways on it. Hollywood gypsies or gypsy like in the library books on the Roma. Not sure. And Toshia thinks my skirt is ugly. I mean, it can by a mini dress for me, so it's susposed to look ugly. I guess I'll just have to bring everything home this weekend and Erin can help me out. You'll do that, right girl?

Gifted and Talented students. That's the topic of my next Ed. Psych class on monday. When I found this article about Marla on the BBC, I did one of those, "Hot Damn" dances in my head.

I don't know if this effects me so much because I'm going to become a teacher, because we're covering it in class, or because I know so many people labled "gifted and talented."

When I was in elementary school there was three schools in our community. The one I attended was mostly middle class kids. On "the hill" Highland consisted of the wealthy and the extremely unwealthy. Needless to say, they had the greatest number of fights break out there. Then there was North Park, where the gifted and talented students went, along with the richer kids that lived in that area. In middle school we all got jumbled together at Central and I made most of my friends with the North Parkee G&T's. It wasn't until much latter when my younger sister was shoved into the G&T testing that I found out that I too was once tested. I of course, wasn't insanly smart, but enough where my parents could have uprooted me to another school. I'm really glad they didn't though. I wouldn't be the person I am today if they did.

Back to Marla and her art, I am not a good patron of abstract painting. I like looking at pictures that resemble something. The down side to that statement is that I'm a horrible artist and I love painting weirdo things like that. Does that make me hypocritical? (Back to that damned bananna vs. bananna bread question). I dunno.

What do you think of people spending so much money on a four year olds paintings?

I dub thee William, the post of procrastination.

I'm gonna get out today. I also have a real hum dinger of a test to study for in SA History. Not sure if I wanna do that right now or not. I'm still putting off reality for a bit. Finished reading Rumor has it. It was a cute little fluff book. One of my more true "porn books."

I'm hungry. I think I might run over to Atwood for some food today. Thinking of attending Women on Wednesday lecture today. This semester it's all guest speakers that have to do with women in politics. I should go, but I'm worried I won't get my studying done. Mebbe I should accomplish that first.

Part of my Keith poster just fell off the wall. Erg. I've gotta remember to buy some blue tacky stuff.

Right.

So, homework. Test. Study.

Weekend. Coming soon. God, I can't wait. Erin's coming home. So I can get out a bit and all sorts of other stuff. I want to make carameled apples. Do they have that stuff out in the grocery stores yet? I know I ran into christmas displays at Menards and Target, so I'm assuming apples and caramel are the normal schtick for groceries.

Ah what ever. Must learn Africa.

Some times you just wish for pen and paper.

Tonight, right in the middle of One Tree Hill, (so anyone who watched and can fill me in on about 20 in the middle, Let me know!!!) we had a fire drill. I don't know if it's the long shadow of the freshman year fiasco or what, but I hate fire drills.

So tonight, we rush out the door. Me, carrying my shoes because I couldn't find them. So we could stand out in the chilly evening air with a parking lot of near freshman who get kicks out of flicking used cigarette butts at the cop who's monitoring the doors.

This girl behind me is talking and I hear: "I thought it was the vacuum. I was trying to figure out why they were doing it this late. I wanted to yell go away, but it was a fire drill."

Sometimes, I really wonder about people.

Hey, your ignorance is showing

When I caught the headline of this article, all I thought was, you've gotta be kidding me? They're talking of never allowing certain soccer players to play again if they wear jewlery and have braided hair? And doing those things make them gay?

Then I wanted to kick my self because my ethnocentric side was showing. Of course these things aren't pervasive in other cultures. Is it wrong that I thought those thoughts? Mebbe. But, as an ignorant American I suspose I can be excused, even though I work hard to try and ditch broad generalized statements such as that.

I do find it interesting though, the arguments posed in this article being whether or not it's a display of african culture. In my ignorant, mythicised mind, I can see ancient african with jewlery, face paint, and fancy hair do's when going on hunts or to aid in battle, similar to the tribal ancestors here in North America. So I wonder if those ideas perpetuated in today's media of african warriors are indeed wrong, or if it is simply a more conservative committee that governs the dress code of their sports teams.

Blood suckin good.

Sex and the Single Vampire by Katie MacAlister

Allegra is a Summoner with a past and a job on the line. Christian is a famous writer, who also happens to be one of the undead. In this paranormal romance, ghosts, demons, and a little bit of blood are the least of their problems. Convincing Christian and Allegra that she is his Beloved: one tough assignment for a pregnant woman.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I also found out that there are two stories that bookend this one, but they aren't needed to enjoy this all on it's own. Read this book. It's dark, hilarious, and very entertaining. Toshia read it first and is available to continue hyping this book. I think I've found a new "keeper" author. I've read (and own) her The Corset Diaries and adore it.

4 of 4 lightning bolts

Ooo. Ooo. Me. Pick me.

I think I found the anwser to my annoying advisor/major app. prob. I'm just going to go pick up another when the secretary is there and SHE should help me, or atleast point me in the right direction.

In other school news, my loan papers came this weekend so they're going to go into the mail tomarrow.

Full up. I made the get-along-girls to come with me to Perkins. I was starved. Remind me to eat because my stomach doesn't I guess.

Toshia and Anna are off doing dubious things to Anthony's toilet. Last week when I ran to get Keith Urban they taped snow flakes up all over his room and hid balloons in places like under his pillow, in his freezer, and under his clothes. The real treat though was filling his toilet up with 'em. Tonight they took off with a bowl of cheerios. I can only guess.

Just call me Slacker

I had big plans for today. I was gonna do my homework I put off all weekend. I was going to blog about some rather funny experiences of late. I was going to CLEAN!

of course, none of this transpired. I woke up, re-read my favorite part of the book I finished last night (Sex and the Single Vampire, Erin, I think you would adore it!!!) then I did the stupidest thing. I turned on the DVD player.

I know I know. They are Satain's objects of Evil. The plan was to listen to some music to clean by. Instead I wasted most of the day watching more of Season one of the Gilmore Girls. Now, I've got to catch up on all that homework on the marrow because I have my night class tonight. Whose reading I finished. Sort of. Atleast the stuff that should be lectured on tonight.

I'm also pissed as hell because my advisor hasn't emailed me back yet. I got one of those auto send ones that say she won't be back in the office until 8/30/04. I'm pretty sure that was a month ago. I just tracked down her phone number so she's on my list of people to call tomarrow morning.

In other news, I talked to my mom and I had a lovely IMversation with Matt. That perked up my day.

Onward to Ed Psych. Tally-ho!

I know Tosh's secret

She's secretly watching my football game, which really isn't going the way I want it to. What can I do?

Yesterday we were very lazy till late and then we went shopping. We got our DVD player!!!! I've already heard how excellent Keith sounds on it. And Trace Adkins (coming on strong) and The first half of the first season of Gilmore Girls.

Wait a go Campbell. He's a favorite of mine. Him and Hovan and Birk and Russell, and Orlando Smith, and Tice. I could go on and on and on. Well....Toodles. Back to Vikes game.

Oh, must blog more about yesterday.

Hop, Skip, and Jump, Jump, Jump

Wasting my time

I'm wating for Keith's CMT special to come on. I've got a twenty seven minute wait. Right now they've got a re-run of Barely Famous on. I love the Warren Brothers. They are hilarious. I really hope this show lauches them into the credit they deserve. I own their album Well deserved obscurity and LOVE it. And yes, I do know more of their songs than just Sell a lot of beer, although I didn't know it was them on a few of them.

I'm hungry. However the remaining 23 minutes are not enough time to run to Perkins and back so it must wait until after the show is over.

Hum. I could complain about this 14 year old girl who needs to grow up because she wrote a horrible letter to the mail section of my Seventeen Mag. Mebbe I should go rebutt that. I spent a whole 10 minutes writing it before I even finished reading my magazine.

Oh Hey, they had a review of Keith's new album in there.

"On his third CD, this urban cowboy's clear voice soars over easygoing rock with a honky-tonk twist. His live-for-the-moment message isn't super-original, but the upbeat sound brightens you day- Jessie, 16, Ocala, FL" and it gets 3 of 4 hearts. (Seventeen Magazine, Nov 2004 pg. 79)

Now I'm horribly mean enough to say that's a terrible pun. Plus, the man is going to be 37 on his birthday. He's at the age where the big Four-Oh is approaching and he wants to relish being young still. And some of his album is very non-upbeat. I can't decide whether I like him better moody or fun-loving.

How did I get on this subject? I dunno. Wow. I've been obsessed with Keith lately on here haven't I? Sadly enough, It's only going to get worse.

We don't have any hand soap in our bathroom. Damned Communists.

Rock on Redneck!

"I've had my share of fights. I always tell people to be careful, because if you see my earrings come out, you know I'm getting ready to go."

Please define Drunk Driving for me

Found this article and was stuck in a quandry. Just the fact that things like this come up in our lives these days is crazy. Where do we get these ideas? It's over my head and smacked a bird.
What's even crazier, is that I found it absurd right off the bat, just like when I heard that years old hashed up story of Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw (aka the horse incident). It's a matter of using logic (which I'll fully admit doesn't work in most situations but totally applies here)

I agree that the guys on horse back weren't drunk driving. They were drunk riding. Now if they were in a buggy, it'd be a whole different story. Then they would be driving. The point though is that automobiles are much more serious weapons in accidents.

Hey you, wipe up that drool!

Tosh is getting slobbery because Dierks Bentley's How am I doing video is on. He looks nummy in a suite.

Someone tie my feet to the floor

I'm excited. Or bouncy, hyper, whatever word ya wanna use. Why? Let's list the reasons.

Remember that Kenny Chesney concert I went to back in Oh, April? Well I just got my concert shirt in the mail. Oh I praise the wonders of the internet. (I didn't have money back then)

There's a Keith Urban special on tointe on CMT.

I'm going shopping tomarrow with rumors of a new DVD player riding shotgun on the way home. Also the possiblity of Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream which I hear is to die for and the one up here is hiring so Hello mebbe to a job.

I got my mail (hence the t-shirt) and it has my new Country Weekly and all sorts of other fun things.

Wasted my money at the library. Spent six dollars and bought 23 books, including some Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, and Gayle Wilson.

But best of all? Tosh's mom made us MY favorite cookie bars. I've already had three and feel like a cow. We're so walking to Perkins tonight so I can eat more.

Tootles

Geez, Jay

Stayed up and watched Leno tonite since my hubby was a guest star. Keith looked wonderfull, even if it wasn't the greatest performance. It wasn't so much him as the mike not picking him up. And damned Jay just introduced him then ended the show. Let the man speak!!!

His new video is on GAC right now. Enjoying it like a bad habit. I entered Tosh in GAC's contest to win tickets to see keith in Las Vegas. Everyone else go there and win me the grand prize. I of course can't because I haven't reached the advanced age of 21. Four months people. What is the big deal?

Oh hey, Katrina Elam's video is on now. Keith plays ganjo on this track and she's opening for him on his new tour.

Tickets on sale saturday. Can't wait.

Tomarrow is going to take forever. I've got tons of homework to catch up on. I'm also continuing my job search and it's the last day to register for my field experience. Better get on that. But for now I'm gonna read some more Highland Hawk and pray the freshman don't wake up and shower when I do tomarrow. I hate mornings like today. The little wenches clog the showers till it's too late for me. Now my hair is gross. You don't want to know any of this. kay, stopping now. Gotta sneeze. There's going to be a huge space at the end of this post. Damned Blogger. I can't figure out what the hell is wrong with it.

Bizarre musician and Terrorism rant

Cat Stevens Had Scheduled Nashville Session (filched from here.)

Wed. September 22.2004 6:52 PM EDT

The singer-songwriter formerly known as Cat Stevens was en route to a recording session in Nashville when authorities removed him from a flight from London to Washington for what the Homeland Security Department has termed as "national security grounds." The planned Nashville visit was confirmed to CMT.com by a reliable source within the music industry. A convert to Islam, Stevens changed his name to Yusuf Islam more than two decades ago. He was taken from a United Airlines flight after it was diverted to Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday (Sept. 21). He was denied entry into the U.S. after officials received information regarding his connections to potential terrorists. On the home page of his official Web site, the Web master posted a message stating, "He has vehemently and consistently criticized terrorist acts and has always advocated peace through his songs and his extensive humanitarian relief work. He has traveled many times to the U.S., most recently two months ago on a visit with his record company. Any suggestion therefore that he poses a security risk due to alleged connections with terrorist activities is totally denied as it is simply wrong."

Has anyone actually listened to the man's singing? He's horrible. I know, biased opinion and all that crap, but I listen to A LOT of different sorts of music that no one would dream of actually listening to. I can't stand him. He's got the song selection of a three year old. The best song is Moon Shadow and I actually prefer Mandy Moore's version on her Coverage album. Did I mention I'm not really a Mandy Moore fan?

So it comes down to whether or not he's a risk to national security. The guy's a Muslim, that does not make him a terrorist. It's reported that he MIGHT have donated money to a terrorist organization. Well, as long has he deposits some moolah into the fund for his The-Lord-is-punishing-me-by-making-me-listen-to music-that-is-worse-than-monkey-in heat-calls-so-I-want-my-money-back lawsuit refund, I don't care about his religious affiliation. Maybe he can go record horrible religious albums for them.

And once again I repeat: Terrorism is a concept. It is not something you can fight with military backing and macho male posturing. You can fight the terrorist groups, not the terror itself. Besides Who defines a terrorist? If I do, it's my advisor who won't return my e-mails because she's seriously freaking me out.

Highland Book Review

Highland Flame By Lois Greiman Is the story of Flanna the Flame and Roderic the Rogue. Flanna is a woman pushed into a position of leadership of her clan. Roderic is the brother of the head of the powerful Forbes clan who has been causing havoc for The Flame. In a plan to save her people Flanna takes Roderic hostage. Romance, adventure, and difficult choices ensue.

I liked this book a lot. The plot was intriguing. The hero was very funny, sweet, strong, with limitations. Everything a good romance hero should be. The heroine was also most of these things, although she tended to rehash her insistence on not marrying a lot, which I didn't understand in the first place.

3 of 4

Highland Scoundrel also by Lois Greiman is the story of The Flame and The Rogue's daughter. Shona, a friend of the child king of Scotland and the apple of her father's eye needs to be settled down. Her father invites all sorts of powerful men to his castle for highland games in the hope that the wild Shona will choose a husband. Dugald the Dragon is at the games to kill himself a traitor. The King's advisors are certain that Shona is behind a plot to kidnap the king and must be dispatched. However, Dugald doesn't believe the fiery lass he's meet is capable of such treachery.

This one wasn't as strong as Flame. I admired Shona more as a heroine and Roderic continually walking in on his daughter and Dugald the Dragon was entertaining. However, I picked out the villain right away and it seemed to lean a bit too much on the book prior to it (it's part of the Highland Brides series, which I hadn't read)

Sorta Funny Actually Review

I rented Love Actually from the Library. (I really must quit saying that. Borrowed. That's the correct term.) It stars tons of British actors like Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, and Keira Knightley. Setting is Britain in the month before christmas. The story is vinegttes of different characters' love lives leading up to Christmas when they find out what love actually is.

The movie tag line is that it's the "Ultimate Romantic Comedy." Well, I'll let it keep the comedy part. Hugh Grant's character, the new young hip Prime Minister, giving me the most chuckles. Expecially during his "strong nation" speech and the aftermath that follows. The romance was a bit fleeting. None of the couples really shot off too many sparks, but the nine year old boy's delima of being in the "total agony of love" was really cute. Other parts of the movie were just strange.

My main point of contention was that it was sorta choppy. It was like watching a christmas soap opera with better jokes, badder storyline, and a sing-a-long soundtrack. I also wasn't sure how the six or so different storylines related to each other. I sorta had them at the end, but I still don't get how Colin and the porn couple were related.

Other random comments:

*really weird seeing Professor Snape with real hair and regular clothes.

*Billy Bob Thorton playing the President of the United States as a cross between Dubbya and Mr. I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

*Best line happens when Colin is convinced British chicks are stuck-up and he needs to go to america, where he's going to "a fantastic place called Wisconson."

I dub thee Howard, the post of my depressing thoughts

I need someone to figure this damned thing out. All I did was edit to fix a damn spelling mistake and now I've got an ocean between my title and my posting. I can't figure it out and that stupid blogger help page doesn't help me any. Erg. Lord this is stupid. Back to my lasagna. (which you don't know about cuz ya haven't read my post yet.)

I officially am one of those old spinster type people. Okay, I'm really not. But I have been in the most weirdest mood. It's I dunno. I'm feeling lost. Mebbe that's it. I keep saying that it's just back to school mood swings, but I could be wrong. I've been slacking on my homework, and my job searching. My life in general is confined to my room reading, which while is a favorite past time, it really doesn't lend much to getting things done. I haven't been journaling as much as normal and my postings on here have been the cheery empty headed type that I spew in my good moods.

Today, I actually did things though. I raised the bed. Put my chair away. Cleaned out some of my desk. I ordered my Kenny Chesney Guitars, Tiki bars, and a Whole lotta love concet tee (since I didn't have any money then). I Emailed my advisor to see if I can get my major application all finished up. I also watched a not good movie who's review is forth coming. Got my SA Hist class tonight. Not sure if I'm looking forward to it. Mebbe that's what's wrong. Last semester I loved my classes (except Econ that was a nap) but so far none of my classes have that zip to them. Geography is coming close. We finally moved out of that "this is a map" phase of my cultural geog. Plus I have a field trip coming up. Fun fun.

I'm gonna go eat my lasagna.

Toshia must really love me

She's taking my incessant Keith Urban chatter very well. I mean I always yak about him, but today is day zero in the Be here count down and I've been odd ball facting keith all day.

Right now she's working on our decor. We will soon have a very sexy pic of Dierks Bentley gracing the wall behind our TV.

Right now I'm trying to come up with a symbol for my rating system that is also a symbol for me. I mean stars and thumbs up are way over done and grading is such a cliched thing. Like if it was Tosh's system I'd use turtles or palm trees, Anna - chickens, Erin - Bats or storm clouds , Becky - sunflowers, Angel - I'd either play on wings from her name or cats.

The best I can come up with on my own is Lightning bolts. Is that stupid? Come on. Give me some Ideas.

I'm so "there"

My day so far:

Wake up.

Get dressed.

Go to class.

Buy lunch.

Return from class.

Go buy Keith's new album Be Here which just came out today. I haven't listened to it yet, because Tosh's CD player is on the fritz. However, we price checked some DVD players and that might be added to our electronic hardware by the end of the week. In the mean time I've got the listening party at CMT.com jamming.

It's like passing an accident scene with the ambulance lights flashing

You just can't stop gawking at the obscene carnage.

Yes. I happen to be talking about my Vikings. I keep screaming but they aren't hearing me over there in Phlidelphia.

We're into the third quarter and really haven't started our offence. The D is covering loosly and aren't sticking tackles. They're letting McNabb have too much time.

We on the other hand are being covered well and Daunte hasn't had a chance to scan the field before their d-line is staring him in the face. We need something big to happen to fire us up.

Come on guys. Don't make me cry.

Bastard fumbled again. Ooo. I'm gonna teach that one a lesson.

Grrrrrrrr

Tosh's blow out birthday bash.

Well, it certainly didn't lack any of Loreli Gilmore's flair, that's for sure.

I know ya'll, you wanna know what the big birthday susprise was. Well everyone knows that Toshia is our very own puritain, so for her birthday, I loaded the party cooler with alchohol. Yes. Correct. I was the first one to forcibly poor liquor in that poor girl's body.

Anyhow, In true girl fashion, we spent Tosh's 21 (me, Tosh, and Anna) drinking wine coolers, eating sun chips, listeing to rockin' country music, and playing poker.

To make it sound more redneckish, we did it in the back of Anna's truck out at the farm.

I dub thee Clarence, the post of random nonsense

Really must do some homework. My class is in like two hours and I haven't done much of anything.

Vikes playing the Eagles tonight. I guess I'm gonna have to tape the beginning.

Keith's new album comes out tomarrow. CMT.com has a listening party and all sorts of goodies on his artist page.

This is really random. Oh. I've got some book reviews that need to be put up here.

Any thing else dire enough to be put on this quick up date thing? I have to pee. I don't think that's what I meant though. Right. Back to the dreaded homework thing.

The Baked Beans Dog

I went with dad on sunday to pick up our new puppy. He's an adorible little chocolate Labrador. His name is Duke, named after the one and only John Wayne (Watch Mclintock. It's one of his best!). However, I always think of the Bush's Baked Beans comercials.

He is cute though. The first thing I saw him do was yank on a dog's tail that's fourty times bigger than him. Then later, He peed in the back of my Dad's truck. He's gonna be chasing birds and be humongus next time I see him. Thanksgiving is so far away.

Bouncing around like crazy

I just spent the last two hours painstakingly, loudly, and very sporatically, planning a road trip with Anna, Tosh, and Becky.

GET THIS!

WE'RE GOING TO SEE KEITH!!!

Yep. That's right. That CMT tour? First we were eyeing the Wisconsin dates, but they're both on Thursdays, which are afternoon class days. That's when the South Dakota dates came up.

Man, I dunno what's keeping me in my skin still. Of course it's not official yet. There's still buying tickets (on sale next saturday) and booking a room and actually having money to do this, but...

We're going to see Keith!!!
I'm gonna have to staple my skin to my bones. I'm so jazzed. I've gotta head to bed. Mid morning classes come early when all the girls fill the showers at eight. Gotta beat the rush. How the hell am I gonna get any sleep tonight now?

And actually, it's after midnight, so today is the world premiere of keith's video.

And for those of you who think I'm obsessed need to check out some of his fan sites on the net. I'm very mild in comparison.

Reaching her dotage

Tosh's birthday is friday. She insists she's not going to make a big deal of it. I believe her exact words were "I'm going to ignore it."

I however have a susprise planned....but I can't tell you yet...but I will.

Oh, and Erin, I'm shopping tomarrow night so you'll owe me some moolah then. Anna too.

What the Days bring tomorrow

tomorrow is the world premiere of Keith urban's new video Days Go By. You can catch it on CMT on the Top Twenty at 7 central or you can view it from keith's artist page at CMT.com here.

Anyway, new album coming out on the 21st titled Be Here.

Also a headlining tour sponsored by CMT, Keith Urban Be Here 2004.

Give my man some support.

Smokin'

This mid morning, I finished reading Where There's Smoke by Sandra Brown. Toshia actually Read this one first, so when she gets to reading this she can yea or nay my analysis.

The story involves the Tackett family and their oil empire. Lara Mallory is the town's new doctor and she ended up in this small Texas town because of sex scandal with now dead Clark Tackett. Mother Jody wants to drive Lara from town. Enter Key, the younger son, who's a hell raiser and a pilot and prone to needing medical attention. (here for more)

I've only read a handful of Brown's work, but this one was solid. I did experience a bit of deja vu in the begining of the book, but eventually when I couldn't recall what happens next I realized I hadn't read it before. I am pretty adapt at these suspense books now so I think that might be why that happened. I caught most of her hints about the end but the true revelations about the coup de tat in Central America was a suprise.

I'd vote it as a nice afternoon read. Not boring, but not "ohmilord" either. Three out of four stars.

I should come up with my own raiting system. Oh the projects to do...

I've got that restless feeling.....again

Well, technically, it never went away. I just, I dunno, masked it for awhile. Erg. Mebbe it did go away and now it's back because I've spent all day (except the past two and a half hours when I was at my South Africa history class) In the dorm.

I was a Beautiful rainy day. The type where a person should be curled up in bed with an awesome book. Did that. I finished reading Where There's Smoke by Sandra Brown (review to follow)

I followed that up by starting on my To Do list:

New cell number. Check.

SA Hist homework. Check.

Read Blogs, check e-mail. Check check.

Then I did the unthinkable. I got bored.

Now on a normal "bored" day, I'd flip on the television and watch HGTV or else I'd pack up my journal and stake out a prime observation spot on campus like the Miller Center or Atwood. This would lead to people watching and lots of incredibly funny and absurd vignettes.

Nope. I moped around my room. And yelled at my printer which won't work.

tomorrow, I NEED to get out. The little green men are starting to talk to me again.

Books Books Books

First I promised my review of Bet me By Jennifer Crusie. I only planned to sit and read a few chapters wallowing in my pain. Instead, I stayed up till four in the morning reading it straight through. (I paid for it the next day during Geography though). I'm a big fan of Crusie's books, my favorite books ever being Welcome to Temptation and Faking it, both by her.

In Bet Me, Min is dumped by her latest boyfriend and is nagged into asking out Cal by her best friends because she needs a date to her sister's wedding. Cal is a Ladies man and gets into a bet with a client about sleeping with Min. Amid planning her sister's wedding, not dating Cal, learning to cook Chicken Marsala (whatever that is), and battling her mother's obsession with Min's weight, the two end up in something people call love.

Hum... I've read more books, two by Sandra Brown that were okay. Fanta C and Sunset Embrace. The first is a contemporary from the eighties and the second is a historical about a wagon train to Texas. They were both filler books. Nothing exciting. I enjoyed the latter the best.

Just finished Stephanie Laurens latest Cynster novel, The Ideal Bride. It wasn't quite up to par with the rest of the Cynster books. This deals with Michael Anstruther-Wetherby, who is Honoria Cynster's brother, so he's not directly a Cynster. And that shows in his character, it's not as well defined as the rest of the heros in past books by Laurens.

The story line also has a bit to be desired. Michael is a politician in need of a wife and Caro (the heroine) is a diplomat's widow. She spends the begining of the book trying to convince Michael that her niece is not his ideal bride, then the end trying to decide if she wants to marry Michael herself amid attempts on her life. It moved a bit slow.

Right now I have a Sandra Brown book on deck and Tosh has already read it and given it her okay.

Purple Pride

Did you catch that game yesterday? Of course you did. Only an idiot, or the ignorant would miss Vikings football. I'm in a wonderful mood because of that win. I watched it over at my Cousin's with my cousin-in-law Bob, who has the proper respect for football and the correct obsession with the Vikes, quite unlike my roomate.

The point of this rant though, Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman. He's quoted in the Star Trib as saying:

"I wanted to let him know I'm not awestruck just because he's Randy Moss. I got to eat just as much as he does."

Well, Newman proved that if you go here and click on gallery, the eighth or so pic is of Newman playing dirty. There is no reason he should have been all over Randy, expecially if the ball isn't even being played in that direction.

Some people need to learn to play, and other's need new eyes and the balls to call penalties!

In other news, did you see McBriar's "throw" ? Ha! I can play football better than that. Although, I did call the screw-up before it happened, just not to the laughable extent it was.

....On to the Eagles.....Then the SuperBowl.....Are you ready for some Football?

Lisa's horrible no good very bad luck

So I've been estatic because my dream hubby has his new album coming out this month (Sept 21st, Be Here, go buy it!). To make my day more excited I found out that I'm a member of this really great club assocated with my radio station so I could attend his album release party.

HOWEVER....I have not yet reached the advanced age of 21 and therefore am inelligible to win my tickets. Damn it!!! Why couldn't my parents do their thing four months earlier?

And Anna can't get it up, but that's a different story.

Uh, Title...Hummm.... The Menards Story

I promised the story....so here it is:

Me and my parents went to Menards to pick up some stuff to install a phone extension in Grandma's room and (Hooray Hooray) carpeting in my entry way since the old stuff was moldy and gross and I'd been after Dad for ages to get me some new stuff. Well we wandered around looking and discussing house decorating (like trying to convince Grandma into letting me paint the kitchen orange. It's not like she can see it.) when we came upon the carpet section.

This guy was doing some thing ( I suspose I should call him and employee, but that somehow sounds stuffy) with the remanant conveyor belt thing (which is very cool and mildly entertaing to watch by itself. Sorta like a baby carnival ride. Humm...I wonder...). While the employee was cutting our piece of carpet (It's dark green if your curious) I was telling mom and dad about the creepy garbage guy at work (Erin, remember the cap and suspender guy?). Well Nick (That's the carpet guy) thought that was hilarious and busted out laughing telling my dad how he'd had a crappy day and that was funny.

Then he had to go punch some number crap into his little computer and my mom was looking at these welcome mats trying to get dad to buy her one.

I rub it. Look at dad.

"You can't buy it."

"Why?"

"because someone will ask me where I got my rug burn and I'll have to say I tripped and skinned my self on the door mat."

Nick lost it over at the computer and my Dad just said "only you."

Then later after moving on to a different department I remembered I needed some Scotchguard for my chair so my dad sends me back to ask the carpet guy. I come up behind him and yell "Hey Nick" which I'm sure he immediately thought I was stocking him. But I tell him what I need and he politely brings me over to the proper shelf. I grab a can and Immediately turn around to ask my dad a question and smacked poor Nick in the head with my carpet that I'm carrying.

When I ask how much I need, he asks how big my chair is . My anwser: big enough for me to sit in. He was still perplexed when I left.

Ish.

Alright...finished my interview... the kids are adorible...I feel like crap.

My allergies, sinuses, or else a head cold has kicked in and I more or less feel like shit. So I'm going to finish up some Geography reading and then I get to run to the library because my DVDs are due (the original Stepford Wives and The Order starring Heath Ledger) and I didn't return 'em after my interview like I was gonna.

My head hurts. I cleaned. I could joke about how that's how you can tell I'm sick.......by the fact that I cleaned, except just me talking or hell even looking at me is enough.

Oh a good thing: Troy is playing on campus and I'm going to see it tomarrow with Becky and on Thursday with Anna. MMMMMMMMMMMM. I saw it this summer with Tosh and Erin. Yummy Brad Pitt. I'm sure there should be other good reasons to like that movie, but Brad half naked, sweaty, bloody, and it belly shirts really does it for me. It's like watching vanilla porn.

I don't think I can top that statement. Until later....

Question?

Is braile only in English or can you read it in Latin and stuff too? I mean I know American Sign Language is just that, so are there different sorts of braile?

Done with day one...

I hate blogger. It just deleted my whole post right before I hit the publish. Plus it's doing this weird large space block thing at the end of each post. Angel, HELP!

Today really starts with last night since that's when I decided to read two chapters of Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie (Book review to follow). At a quarter to one when two stupid lost boys insisted some chick named Jessica lived in our room I was on chapter seven. Needlessly, I finished it at four this morning. Had class at nine thirty.

Nine thirty. First Geography class of the day. Walked my ass to a mildly interesting class. Then I chatted with Anna and Tosh before my second Geography class of the day. Same subject. Same professor. Same room. Different class focus. Same boring as hell lecture. I ended up asking the guy next to me (who was still drunk from last night) if he would poke my eyeballs out with his pen. Clipping doggie toenails is more interesting.

Then I had my class with Toshia. Might be fun. Hard work but fun.

Now I should get my resume ready for my interview tomarrow morning. Wish me luck.

Beer Bust

Witnessed my first beer bust of the year. I'll admit to being a bit unsure of our new window view. It looks over the freshman basketball court and dorm. I'm used to being right in the action and I wasn't sure, but....I saw and heard the beer bust.

It gives me bittersweet memories of Freshman year. When the guys decided to sneek beer into the dorm. They actually thought they were fooling people with a square shaped duffle bag that three guys had to carry. Hello. Brain check.

Moving in....

Right. So this thing doesn't want to listen to me. I'm in my room and my internet is finally up and working. Ran to the grocery store already. My damned white board already fell down and got an ouchy. Uh. I don't know what else to say for now. Watching the news. Remind me to blog about Menards (heh heh) and Nick. *wink wink* later.

Storm clouds rolling in...

Last night I contemplated sleeping outside on the trampoline, untill it started raining. It was just so peaceful out there with most of the stars and the coyotes. My own little piece of the Wild West on the prarie.

Tonight, I sat out there for twenty minutes watching the lightening and reveling in the stormy atmosphere. This is my favorite sort of weather. I love the smell of ozone and the edgyness that comes from a storm growing in the distance. I think it's fitting. I've been so restless lately. I'm hoping that school will beat the restlessness out. I don't mind it, I just can't stand it for so long. Maybe I have flighty feet or something. I don't know. But the restlessness has been growing just like the storm out side is. Sooner or later it's going to become overwhelming and I'm going to burst. Bad things happen when I burst. I once tossed my sister out of a moving truck. Wow. I forgot all about that.

Wicked. More lightening.

Tomarrow is the girls first day of the new school year. I suspose I should be heading off to bed to do quiet things so they can sleep. Or mebbe I'll wander out into the storm again. Can you get hit by lightening or electrocuted by sitting on a trampoline when it's right up under the eves of the house?

Lucy, I'm Home!

Hey all, I'm BAAAAAAAAACK! Right now I'm hoofing it in Nodak at my parents' place, but soon and very soon I'll be back at school and bombarding ya'll with tales of my stupid clumsy ass and all the amazing, bizarre, and oddly curious things I think about.

Hum.... anything intresting lately....no....They're taring and graveling the road by my house so I had to wait a long time to get to work, Steve Miller band's Rocking me Baby, 50 Cent's In Da Club, and Teri Clark's Girls lie too, plus alot of comercials and radio flipping and another song on the classic rock station that I didn't know but was great.

Oh Hey. We have a kitten. He's got one of those little pot bellies that baby's have. And is just so fluffy and cuddly and he's grey and black tiger striped. He has a perpetual cold. This was really funny because he would sneeze on Toshia and she's such a germaphobe. Lots and lots of laughs. His name is Tigger. Technically, he's my baby sister, Vanessa's cat. But he likes me better. I call him Tigg, which annoys the piss out of everyone but my mom who calls him booger and my dad, who calls my dog shithead and hasn't come up with a creative blue collar monkier for the new pet.

There's also rumblings about us getting a puppy. A future hunting dog sort of puppy, but one of those gangly clumsy little things(aka puppies!) I love anyway. I'm pushing to name it Fork, or Toast, or Blenderhead. I don't think I'm going to win. Shame.

Yada Yada Yada...

At the library. Just finished with work. Taped nine and a half palets worth of boxes with the water taper thing. I looked like I was turning into a reptile because all that damned glue was sticking to me. I also ripped my nail off at work. It hurt like a bitch and Jason just laughed at me.

Got my Financial Aid letter thing. Didn't get any work study. Damned communists.

Went and saw the Stepford Wives with my tratorious friend Toshia. The wench went and saw it with Tiffy and Sara first. Five movies isn't that much dear!!!!!

Whining because my Daddy can't make it down this weekend. It's all Mel's fault. She ripped the money tree out with her car. (Funny story should blog that) Now I have to live with mildew in my porch. Ew. I wish I was all handy Tim "the toolman" Taylor. I can do some of it, but I'm not wonder woman.

And my flowers haven't come up yet. I planted them four days ago so there's still six more days before it's a certianty that I've killed them.

Untill later.

went saving horses and riding cowboys...

Well, at least that was the plan. Instead, Me and Tosh went to the Buffalo rodeo and watched some very fine cowboys ride horses and got mud splashed on my car. (Which I still haven't washed off.)

Of course the moron who got the nice black chev stuck in the muddy ditch was a woman. How stupid are some people? She was trying to back a four by out of the mud. Duh, woman! Push it into four wheel and speed right on out. Of course some guy had to do that, which is how I ended up with a dirty car. I was waiting for it to come in my open window, but the guy didn't have enough skills for that.

That wonderful land down under....

First they give us those wonderfully faithful sticks that work like my dogs they call boomerangs. Then they give me my future husband Keith Urban. And I am Happy. Next came Heath Ledger and I fell in love. Now they are supply Ryan Kwanten, the hottie that plays Jay on the WB's Summerland.

It comes on Tuesdays and he's yummy. I could listen to him talk all day... and a few other things...*wink**Big sigh*

My lovely music...

I just bought Faith Hill's Cry CD. I was sort of suprised by it. It made me realize what everyone was railing about "Faith going pop." It makes me think of a WLTE music format. It's one of those records you pop on when you're gonna have some seduction going on. It's not all about love, but heart break and finding identity, but it's a relaxing record.

I've also been Jamming to Keith Urban's The Ranch album. I love the song Desiree. I think that just proves that I'm sullen and depressing and melodramatic at heart.

Unplesant movie experiences....

Last night me and Tosh, Anna, Tiff, and a few other people went to see Shrek 2 since me and Tiff were the only ones who hadn't seen it yet.

***Some movie spoilers obviously coming***

My favorite part was when Shrek choked on the spoon. I lost it and laughed so freakin' hard I missed the next couple minutes of the movie. Puss in Boots is also adorable. I love Antonio Bandaras. Plus, Holding out for a Hero is an absolutely awsome song.

The sucky part came when some stupid chick when off on us about disturbing "People wanting to enjoy the movie". Which was stupid because we are rather serious movie goers. We talk quietly when asking questions and rarely get up. I think Anna did that once. We were gennerally baffeled that she freaked out on us. I was prolly the worst person because I laughed and I sang abit of Hero.

Oh well. We ofcouse topped the night off with Perkins.

Question...

What does a '69 Tempest look like?

The lord was not smiling...

Smarty Jones lost. Atleast my third place horse came in first. That means some winning money is still possible. Right. Don't want to post too long. Stole Erin's comp after a long day at work. I just want to go home and read. Found a new author. Stephanie Laurens I think it is. Also have some Hailey North and Susan Johnson on deck. Promise lots more tomarra when I go to the Library.

Belmont day...

Go Smarty Jones!

Busy late last night...

Went and saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night. Was extremely excited because it's my favorite book of the first four. I like the fifth book too but it makes me sad. (Is that vague enough without giving anything away?)

Anyhow, Sirius Black is my favorite character from Harry's world. It just upsets me so much that they couldn't find a hot actor to play him. I guess that ends all fantasy's about him. LoL. Also, Wood is not in this movie and I'm insanely in lust with that actor. He's so adorible.

Oh, and the Weasley twins have Beatles haircuts.

Philosophy at 11 in the morning...

Got an email from Shauna that was deep. And sorta amusing. Here it is for your pleasure:

WORDS TO LIVE BY

Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
and some days you're the statue.

Always keep your words soft and sweet,
just in case you have to eat them.

Always read stuff that will make you look
good if you die in the middle of it.

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that
can be recalled by their maker.

Eat a live toad in the morning and nothing
worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.

If you can't be kind, at least have the
decency to be vague.

If you lend someone $20, and never see
that person again, it was probably worth it.

It may be that your sole purpose in life
is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Never buy a car you can't push.

Never put both feet in your mouth at the
same time, because then you don't
have a leg to stand on.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

The early worm gets eaten by the bird,
so sleep late.

When everything's coming your way,
you're in the wrong lane.

Birthdays are good for you; the more
you have, the longer you live.

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty, some
are dull, some have weird names, and
all are different colors but they all
have to learn to live in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who can
enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

I know some of them are the things that people get in email all the time like "You could be the world to one person." But The worm one was funny and so was the statue one. Or maybe it was just me.

Forever...

It's been forever since I've written. I now have figgured out how to use the internet for the most part so hopefully, this will work out better. Right now I'm at the library and checking email. I've got five books or so on hold and three more at home that still need my attention. Lucky for me, I don't have to be to work untill noon on monday. I'm also pleased as punch I don't have to look at anymore stupid Cheerios boxes. I now hate the damned things. Hopefully, by the time they get the new shipment of them in I'll safely be ensconsed in another special project so I don't have to assemble stupid gift bag kits. Ick. All right I'm done.
