New Beginnings

I started this blog a long, long, time ago in this galaxy, but in a city not to far away. Mainly because it was the thing to do and I was young and had time. Now I'm planning on utilizing it because well, I'm fat and need to get my act together before I seriously maim myself and hack decades off my already short life.

They say the key to weight loss is to write things down, be accountable, and have a network of support. So that is what this is going to be. Whether it's real (are you out there audience? It's me, Lisa) or imagined. I don't know what kind of pithy commentary this will take on, our even how well I'll be about keeping up (once again. Accountability. If a tree falls in the forest...)

So today I ran some sprints. Or jogged some sprints. and when I say some. I mean 6-ish. (I totally welshed on the first one but promise I went all out on the next five). Plus it was a spur of the moment thing. I was out on my walk about the yard with the pup and I've been reading all about this interval training in my health mags and I make my VB girls run sprints. What's good enough for the goslings and all that I figure.

Yeah. Figured out why I hate running.

I flop and jiggle. A lot. In ways that are very uncomfortable. Even with the twins strapped into a supportable sports bra. The fat on my belly flops. The fat on my arms wiggle. My THIGHS shimmy in disgusting ways. I imagine it is not a pretty sight. I mean, if it feels ugly and uncomfortable, it can't really be enjoyable to look at. And while I don't like to think I'm too vain, I really don't want to go to the gym with PYT's and Krispies hanging about while I gallump along flapping and skin slapping. It's really just being polite to not force that on anyone else.

In other news. I did 2 sets each of flys and curls with the 5 lb weights.

Plus I'm still on the lookout for my summer anthem. If you find a good one I'm all for it. I really dig "Long Hot Summer" which Keith performed on the Billboard Awards this year, but haven't heard it on the radio yet and I haven't checked iTunes either.

Ciao for now!
