Current Readings...

Right. So I picked up more books from the library a week ago. I managed to slam down a few in MN before my westward trek. The rest I've managed to slim down to almost nothing.

First was Pillow Talk by Hailey North. This was a new to me author. I found her from those lovely ladies on the Lauren Royal Street team. Unfortunately, My library doesn't stock many of her books, but I fell in love with this one so I'm gonna have to go ask for somemore. It's a modern romance and is really cute and funny.

I Read Leigh Greenwood's Born to Love. I love all of Leigh's books and character's I've ever read, which is a considerable amount since I've read all of the Seven Brothers and all of the Cowboys. This is the last of his Night Rider Trilogy but I haven't read the first two books. I really think it sucks that his publisher ditched the idea of him finishing it out the way it was planned. I love connected books. Yes it rocks to read 'em all in order, but unlike Nora Robert's connected trilogies, these can stand well all on their own and out of order. Trust me. And Amazon gives plenty of backlisted books so I don't understand all the hoopla. Losers.
Then came The Outlaw Bride by Sandra Chastain. This was another newbie to me. I just picked it up off a library shelf because I wanted something to read and it sounded sorta interesting. It was a case of dual brothers wrongfully accused of stealing in the old west Texas. My only grief was the amnesia. I understand it's a real thing but it gets used a little overmuch in romantic fiction as a driving story device. The main heroine was a lawyer and a past life street raggamuffin. I think I'm going to check out some of her other works. The Redhead and the Preacher is an intruging title.

My transtion book from MN to Nodak was Emily and the Scot by Kathryn Smith. This was another LR Street teamer. Unfortunately, my library only has her YA titles and not any of her adult stuff. The book was cute. I defanitely enjoyed it even though it was a Teen novel. I'm really for the sentiment behind it though. I read my first Romance novel when I was in sixth grade and I think that's a bit WAY to soon for my porn books. It's really too bad Avon canceled their YA line.

Then I read Outlaw's Bride by Maureen McKade. She actually lives in Minot so that was sorta weird to find out. It was a formula romace. It was sweet and entertaining and I only picked it up because it had a similar title to the other book. She was a new author for me too.

Then I tackled Birthright by Nora Roberts. I loved this book. I'm gonna go out and get it in paperback so I have a personal copy. I loved the archeology/anthropology angle (which I'm thinking about minoring in) and Jake seemed like such a great guy. Wonderful heroine I loved and it actually dealt with the baby snatching ring idea I'd been playing with as a storyline. Loved this one better than the entire Key Trilogy together.

Right now I'm delving into The Morning After. It's due Friday and I'm just getting around to it. I can't even re-check it out because there's a hold on it. That's a real bummer. Now I'm gonna have overdue fees.

After this I've gotta finish The Notebook. I started it durning Finals week then packed it by mistake. And I'm still on page four of DArthur so... Lots of reading to do.
