I just got done with my Ethnic Studies Mock school board meeting about mascots. I ended up on the "Keeping it" which I don't agree with, so I had to prepare a statement as a student athlete and student government member supporting keeping our Native American mascot. (I was fabulous by the way).
However, there was the young woman on the other team that was vehemently opposed and would not shut up! She had to address every single comment made and kept slamming all our points even after the "meeting" moved into a compromise stage and into class discussion and no longer a "meeting" where we had to perform our roles. She called me a flip-flopper and made some veiled Kerry remarks. It was very unsportsmanlike.
