New Author: Meg Cabot

I haven't actually read any of her YA titles and that seems to be what this site is geared to. She wrote the now infamous Princess Diaries, which has two movies out. One of which stars my Tuesday night Heart throb Chad Michael Murray.

Anyhow, I've read (and own) She went all the way.

Lou is the only girl in a family of cops. She's also a screenwriter who just made a star out of her louse of an actor boyfriend who tossed her over for his new co-star. Deciding to get on with her life, she makes for the wilds of Alaska and the set of her net movie. Only, the star of the new movie is the jilted lover of said louse's new Vegas bride.

Jack's the action star in Lou's wildly popular action scripts and being stuck on a flight to an remote movie set with the mouthy writer doesn't put him in a good mood. It only get's worse when the pilot tries to shoot them and they end up on a wild chase through the frozen wonderland. (3 of 4 lightning bolts)

Next came the wildly funny The Boy Next Door. If you've never read this book read it. It revolves around the kooky staff of the New York Journal, most specifically Mel Trent and her nextdoor neighbor's nephew, who's not really her nephew.

This one gets 5 of 4 bolts, so go read it. Did I mention there's a Great Dane involved? And cats too.

Last but not least in this extravaganza is the follow-up to TBND, Boy Meets Girl.

This returns you to the buxom of the New York Journal and their Human Resource Department. Poor Kate is being taken to court by her favorite dessert lady on the catering staff for wrongful termination after her boss, affectionately named the T.O.D. (I'd tell you what it stands for, but Tosh took the book and all I can remember is Office Despot) forces her to.

In walks the lawyer to defend her, the cute brother of the T.O.D's insufferable fiance. Of course, only chaos can ensue. Another 5 of 4.

I'm telling you. These last two books are a must read for any girl heading off into the big bad world that requires a job, and a good laugh.
